does anybody know how long the cable/wire is?

it comes with two cables, one attached to the headset with one plug at the end (about 4 ft) and one that connects to that (about 3 ft) with two plugs at the end (i think for stereo) together they are just over 7 feet long.

If its the same kind of jack that would be on a cell phone, than yes. It comes with an adapter at the end to split it into mic/headphone jacks for pc. I'm pretty sure it specifies on the page the type of jack and that you could find out what your computer will accept. Hope that helps.

Do I need to download drivers or a program to run it in my laptop?

No, these are plug and play. There was no CD to install drivers or anything that downloaded. They are a great set for the price.
