Reebok Competitor RT 6.0 Treadmill

I would never buy Reebok again after this experience. This is the copy of my communication with their support department. I removed some of my specific personal info. At the end they refer to the problem as a "software issue" and yet want you to buy a $491 hardware part to repair it! ************************************************************************* --------------- CUSTOMER INFORMATION --------------- Manufacturer = REEBOK Equipment Type = TL Model = RBTL692110 Serial = DD81017.... Date Purchased = 2012-10-15 Purchase Price = 799.99 Where Purchased = COSCO --------------------- COMMENTS --------------------- Very disappointed.The console failed (FF code) about 8 months into ownership & a new part was sent under warranty. Now THAT console has failed with an FF code and the console cost is $491 Having an electrical component that is over 60% of the units cost and has failed twice in 25 months of ownership does not speak well for the quality of your product. We do use a surge suppressor and even unplug the unit if not being used for extended periods. We will be looking at other brands for our next purchase! Hello James, Thank you for contacting us. The address is still the same... <address removed> Nothing has been resolved. The unit seems to be plagued by a bad console. Two consoles have failed in a 25 month period of ownership According to your own support department, these consoles cannot be repaired, they must be replaced. Since the console costs $491 and the current expected life seems to be about 1yr, there does not seem to be much point in buying a new console. I cannot believe there is not a $10 chip replacement option to repair this! Isn't there any other option that is financially viable to repair this? The last time the console was replaced, the circuit board looked new. I did not see any evidence of cold solder joints, burnt components or any other visible signs of problems. So, have your technical people figured out why your console board fails? Is there a flaw in the design?
