These are great brushes! They feel so soft and look very pro for the price. When i first opened them they did have just a lil smell to them but not to bad. The sponge was the one that had a strong scent. I.m super glad it came in a pouch. Perfect for travel. I wish they would number the brushes. Be easier to figure which is which for a beginner. I.ve never really used brushes before besides a powder brush that was giving to me, so i had to stare at the tips for awhile and looking at the paper to figure what was what. There was definitely a difference with my liquid foundation. I have always used a sponge for that but using the flat brush was wooow. Got more coverage and didnt use as much. The sponge is ok. It does expand quite to a big size. Using it to put on liquid foundation wasn.t so great though. I felt it just soaked it up and didnt get as much on my face. So i use it to just blend my concealer instead. The powder brush is really good for people who use powder more than liquid. For me personal the powder brush is very packed together and if i used to much powder it would make my face very flakey and cakey. My mother though loves it since she uses powder n not liquid. She says it gave her more coverage. So i just gave it to her. Lol. I also use the blush brush to put on my bronzer and it blends great! I can.t say much about the eye brushes since i don.t put on eyeshadow. Overall these are really great brushes to have and glad I got them. Will definitely be recommending.

In this set you get an excellent variety of brushes to apply your makeup with. As make makeup enthusiast I was particularly pleased with that. EmaxDesign does include a reference card with a picture of each brush on one side and on the other side, there is a list that explains what each brush is. These brushes really surprised me. I didn't expect them to perform like they do. They are very soft and glide nicely across my skin!! I also really like the size of the handles especially on the smaller brushes. They are very slim and easy to maneuver in your hands. It really makes flipping the dual ended brushes around in your fingers easier. Pros: Very Good Quality Wonderful Variety Perform Like Higher End Brushes Extremly Affordable Easy to Clean Very Attractive Cons: None The quality of these brushes are great and I like the results I get when I use them. I'm ordering a backup set. I'm not a beauty guru or expert. I'm just a woman who happens to love makeup, beauty products and the tools used to apply them and take care of them.

I just bought this as a Christmas gift for a friend and I wasn't really sure what to expect. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! First- the controversial smell factor. Honestly, it really isn't too bad. I washed the brushes right away with a brush shampoo and the smell went away. If you've ever ordered something that was delivered in plastic, it's the same smell. Nothing as dramatic as what some have put down. Second- washing. I immediately decided to wash these before I gifted them as soon as I put in the order. If the smell didn't come out, if it didn't retain shape or shed, it was getting returned. And honestly all the brushes held up well. Only one brush shed a tiny bit, nothing out of the ordinary. And they all retained the shape after drying out, which is a big win. Third- quality. Now obviously I can't speak to long term wear or use, which is why I will only give this 4 stars. But I will say that the brush in hand feels great. They are thick and feel weighty-- something I like in a brush. I can definitely keep a good grip. And the brush bristles are densely packed where they should be, so that's also a plus. I can't say I opened the sponge-- I wanted to keep it away from bacteria for my friend and preserve as much of the packaging as possible. But I pressed on it from within its plastic and I can say that it's super soft and snaps into shape quickly. And I think the company has listened to reviews on here because they included an info card about the brushes. Some reviews said they didn't get one.

This is one of the very first brush sets I purchased when I first started makeup and up to this day I STILL use some of the brushes. The foundation brush and beauty sponge alone are worth the money, it’s surprising how cheap this set is. Most of these brushes seem and work like high quality brushes, they blend makeup seemlessly and don’t take up a lot of product. They’re easy to clean and the bristles don’t seem to shed or become scraggly; these WILL last you a long time if they’re well kept and taken care of. I would’ve been fine without the eyeshadow brushes, they’re not bad but there’s better eyeshadow brushes out there than these, but are still easy to work with. The beauty sponge is probably the best item in this set, it’s bigger than the beauty blender and is even BIGGER when it’s wet, I still use it for my everyday makeup routine and I’ve found that it blends concealer and cream contour very well. It’s very durable and doesn’t crack like other cheap drugstore sponges. Overall, these brushes do a great job of applying and blending makeup very well and I would highly recommend this set to anyone who is thinking of buying it.

These are excellent for beginners, such as myself. Ordered these about a year ago and they are still holding up great. I use them just about everyday. I love the variety in size and shape in the set. It comes in handy when experimenting with makeup. Bristles are soft and durable. It does not shed as much as other brushes I've owned. It's easy to clean and I leave them upside down to dry. The handles are pretty standard but sturdy. The metal part is not the best, but it does it's job and I love the gold color. I've gotten a lot of compliments from friends when they see these displayed in my room. They look like higher end brushes, for a quarter of the price! The addition of the blending sponge is also great. I moisten it before use so it won't absorb as much product. It's not the greatest but nothing beats free. This set comes packaged in a little drawstring bag with the brushes individually wrapped. They did have a bit of that manufacturing scent, which washes away when rinsed. Definitely recommend these! You won't be disappointed.

I got this kit specifically because it includes a beauty blender and I didn't have to purchase one separately. The beauty blender I got is junk though. It smelled awful, took 5 washes before I got most of the smell out and even then there is still this faint chemically, almost turpentine like smell that I don't want near my face. When I tried to use it with my concealer and with my foundation it just absorbed it entirely instead of only picking up a little bit while blending like other beauty blenders I've had. Overall, the blender is just trash. The brushes are pretty good quality though which is why I'm still giving the kit 3 stars. They also had a weird smell but just one wash and they didn't have any hint of it any more. During the wash no hairs fell out and I haven't had an issue with them falling out during application either. The brushes are great for foundation, contouring, highlighting and for blending. I don't think I'd purchase again because I have bought other brushes of similar quality that had no smell, and I'd prefer that any day. It honestly makes me wonder how they made these brushes/blender and what harmful additives could be in them. That said I'm not so mad that I'm going to return these. The smell (and I'm hoping whatever was causing it) is gone from the brushes so they're definitely usable. Theyll be my interim set until I can find a higher quality alternative. I just got these today so I haven’t used them yet, so I can’t speak for the actual use of them, but they came packaged nicely in their own black fabric drawstring bag which makes it very convenient for travel. Each brush is individually wrapped inside with a disposable plastic cover. The smell that many people have commented on is present, but not overwhelming. It almost smells like a new pool float- a sort of plastic smell, but not very strong. I had one of the brushes out for a few min to feel it and before putting it back with the others I smelled it and didn’t notice a smell, so I think they just need a few min to air out- they were stored in plastic covers and inside a plastic bag for who knows how long after all. The bristles feel very soft, and running my fingers through and over the bristles didn’t cause any to fall out. The handles are attached well, I don’t feel any loose handles. It also comes with a card to explain what each brush is designed to do and how to use it, which I find awesome! Overall these look and feel like awesome brushes! I will come back to update the review if I don’t feel the same way after using them!

upon receiving this set, my first impression was that it looks more expensive than what i paid for.. it comes with a pouch that is great for traveling and a card that tells you what kind each brush is. the brushes themselves are very well made, they are VERY soft but dense enough to apply makeup with ease. i washed them as soon as i got them and no bristles shed though there are some that are longer than others but it’s nothing a good trimming can’t fix. in addition, the blender that came with it is not as soft as an original beauty blender but it does a good job when applying foundation. i used the entire set today for the first time to apply my makeup and i am very impressed with its performance. this set is really a good value for your money and it is perfect for everyday makeup and a great set for those who are just starting to explore the world of makeup.
