No more bulky freedom panels to remove...
This took me a bit longer than 40 mins to install. I was able to install myself. I actually watched an install video on you tube by Bestop. Made install easier. Please follow instructions exactly. I decided to jump steps and therefore prolonged the install. The instructions also call for cutting into bar padding, however, I had removed my faded sport bar padding a couple years ago and have been running bare bars for awhile so lining up the screw holes was easy for me. Once complete, I am absolutely satisfied with this item. This definitely makes opening your Jeep top convenient. This top is like a convertible, you just unhook and pull top back. Within seconds you go from top to topless. I even did this at a red stoplight. I was also able to open the sunshade and shoot the video at the same time. Easy peasy. I had a shadeidea mesh shade installed and this would have worked in conjunction to that however, it would have been in the way of operating this sunshade effectively. The material is high quality. It doesnt appear to make much noise while driving closed, as far as rain getting in, I haven't had this for a rainfall just yet. Keep in mind, upon being a new item, the first few times of closing shade will be a little tight. But the more I'm using it, the easier it gets. The sun needs to help stretch the material. Definitely worth the price. The good thing is, you can remove this easily to re-install freedom panels if you get bored. I ordered the Black Diamond version because of all the off-roading I do.. I heard the Twill is harder to keep clean. Thank you Bestop for coming out with this fun Jeep accessory. I ordered the retractable mesh shade that goes with this sunrider and have left a review with video.. go check it out.

Favorite Upgrade
I don't know why I waited so long to get this upgrade. I live in a location where car break-ins are common, so a full soft top is not an option. I found this option and was a little annoyed that it cost almost as much as a full soft top, so I waited on the decision. I'm glad I finally pulled the trigger. The top panels are so big, cumbersome, and are hot to touch in the sun. I could never fit them in the back with my two large German shepherds. Now, it's an easy flip! To all those that say it's loud, it's not that much louder. Jeeps are loud vehicles because they don't have any insulation anywhere. When it's open, I've gone 80mph and it doesn't flap. The only time I've heard flapping is when there's a cross breeze when you're riding. Installation was super easy to follow, but I've done a few mods before, so I feel comfortable doing these. Took me maybe an hour with 1 person. It fits perfectly, and for me, everything lined up well. I have not washed the jeep yet, so I can't say whether or not there are any leaks - fingers crossed. One area on the passenger side door gets a little hung up on the rain rail, and the fabric bunches a bit when I close the top, but I just manually straighten it out. Not a big deal. Overall, great product. Wish it was a little less expensive, but you get what you pay for, so I am anticipating that this lasts many years.

Update-flawless all summer!
Upgraded from 3 to 4 stars as it has worked flawlessly all summer. VERY easy to open and close!! No water or air leaks. Prior post: I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler JKU. It’s been on the Jeep only 2 days - so far I like the product. BUT INSTALLATION was HORRIBLE. To put things in perspective I have a technical background so this isn’t my 1st rodeo. I read the instructions and thought I had viewed all available YouTube videos. Their one hour estimated install took 2 hours in an evening, a trip to Home Depot and an hour the next day. Why? Well first their instruction reference part numbers that don’t agree with the numbers on the parts. Only after checking, double checking and triple checking you’ll convince yourself it’s OK and that you didn’t buy the wrong top. My major issue was that the 2 flanged M6 x 20MM screws were too short to reach the welded nut on the door rails (see page 7, Step 2). After spending an hour trying all sorts of work around's I decided the bolts were one size too short. At no time did I force the bolts as I was unable to engage them in the threads. By this time it was too dark to do anything and I had already spent 2 hours. I went to Home Depot the next day. With a longer bolt the driver’s side went in with no issue but the bolt threads on the passenger side would not engage the threads on the welded nut. I went back to the videos and sure enough there is a second company video called “Tips & Tricks”. It was great advice but I could have used it much earlier and unfortunately it didn’t help my issue. The bolt would go through the nut in the opposite direction but not in the direction I needed. For what I paid I should have taken the whole thing off and sent it back. Instead I used a smaller diameter bolt (likely not a company approved solution) which passed through the welded nut and capped it off with a lock nut. While many who have installed this top don’t have the bolt problems it seems that enough of us do that Bestop should be investigating this and providing a Plan B.

Doesn't fit
I wanted to like this. It is a good concept, definitely better than lugging those awkwardly-large freedom panels around when the weather is nice. It looks good, too. And flipping it open to open the roof was almost magic. Unfortunately, that's as far as I got because it simply wouldn't latch. I read the other reviews saying it wouldn't fit, but surely those buyers were doing something wrong ... right? Nope. I should've paid better attention to those reviews, especially the ones saying it wouldn't fit a 2016 Wrangler JKU. Maybe it's specific to that model, but one thing is for sure: it wouldn't fit on my 2016 Wrangler JKU. I'm not new to Jeeps or installing soft tops. This one simply wasn't big enough for the latches to reach the hooks. Even after leaving it in the sun for hours to make it more pliable, and taking out the bolts except for the factory mushroom bolts, it wouldn't latch. Like so many other buyers said, the installation process was tedious because the bolt holes don't line up. It isn't difficult...just frustratingly tedious. The worst part: if you have a JKU, you have to make slits in the fabric cover on your sports bars. So, basically, I damaged my Jeep for nothing. I had originally ordered from Bestop but it was going to be on backorder for several weeks. I'm thankful for that, at least, because I came to Amazon after canceling the original order, and Amazon makes returns such a breeze. TLDR: Nice concept, bad engineering.

A great addition that transformed my JK
I have a 2013 JK Sport 2 dr hardtop, and like a lot of people I did not like wrestling with the freedom top panels and having to carry them in the back. I love having the top open but where I live in the mountainy SW US there is a lot of elevation change everywhere I go, as much as 2,500 ft in less than 20 miles, which means the temperature and weather in general can change quickly. Just being around mountains means you have to be prepared for any type of weather unexpectedly, and in the SW it tends to get cool after sunset even in the summer. Although the Sunrider soft top was far more expensive than I thought it should have been when compared to a full soft top, I bit the bullet and ordered one (the price dropped somewhat after I bought mine). I was able to install it by myself in about an hour. It has transformed my JK into a true convertible with a top that can be thrown open or closed in seconds as weather conditions change, without leaving the driver's seat. I am happy so far with the quality. It looks and feels OEM. It doesn't rain much here and I haven't had the top in the rain yet, and probably never will (my Jeep is a pleasure use only toy), so I don't know how rain-tight it is at this point, but It's very tight and comfy at freeway speeds with very little road or wind noise. I now leave those big ol' bulky freedom panels and the back seat at home and everything behind the front seats is available for cargo space. If you can stomach the price I highly recommend this top.

Definitely worth the money!!!
I was super hesitant to get this after hearing from some how hard it was to install and nightmare leaking stories. Well I got mine. The first nice day we had got it put on. The directions were very useful. The only big problem that we had was some of the bolts did not want to catch. With some persistence, patience and making sure the holed are lined up perfectly all went well. The first place I went was to the car wash, mine is a 2010 and leaked a little normally around the freedom panels from time to time. As I went through the wash prepared to get soaked... only 2 drips came in when going through the dryer! I don't think we will have winds like that any time soon. Opening and closing is super easy I have to use both hands but I have a bad shoulder so for anyone else it should be a breeze! Best investment, quality product, small amount of road noise change and almost completely water tight the seals are pretty impressive. Over all I would give 4.5 because of the slightly tedious installation. I love it!!!

Ray Install - No Leaks
Install took 45 minutes. Be sure to clean your seals before installing! They get pretty dirty. Can be done with one person but 2 made it easier. Not difficult at all. Pop in brackets with existing screw pins, throw top on, tighten down and done! First day out was monsoon rains with high winds, not a drop of water entered cabin. Have had installed 10 days. Is it noisey? Not really. No flapping sound when closed an occasional whoosh in high winds. When open it's a little more noisey as the the folds of top will catch some wind now and then, but no flapping like a duck taking off from water. I don't think I'd want to cruise at 70mph with it open noise wise, but for local driving up to 55,mph, no problem,- minor noise- not enough to need to turn radio up.
