i started growing a bonsai on 12/25/2023 and when i read the instructions, it said the soil had to be a specific temp. and when i tell you it took me like a solid hour to find this, im not kidding, this is the only one i could find. and thank god i did because this is surprisingly cheap for the quality. now i'm not sure how accurate it is since i have no other way to test it, but it's been helping my keep my tree growing and alive and beautiful, so i'd say it's fairly accurate. it's pretty long so it can test pretty deep into a lot of pots, but it can also take the temp from the very tip is you have smaller pots. its super easy to use, literally all you have to do is press a button. i've had this for about a year now and it's help up great, its super durable. it's also pretty bright and easy to read. i'm so happy this was made because i literally couldn't find anything else so thank you makers(trust you should buy this) oh it's also super fast. i just wish it had some sort of feature like a normal thermometer that beeps or something to show it's done taking the soils temp. but it's a great product

For the money I wasn't expecting too much, but I was really disappointed to find it doesn't handle even the slightest drop of water (in this particular case a very light shower). However, after drying out it still worked, which was a surprise. On the plus side it's quick and easy to use. If you haven't heard of Fahrenheit now's the time to brush up because it's manufactured for the US market where no one comprehends Celsius. And if your soil gets above 100F (37.8C in 21st Century language) you might consider buying a different device.

I have their pH gauge, which is sketchy at best, until I can verify its accuracy, but this thermometer works well. I use it for soil temps in order to time the planting of garden vegetable seeds. It’s accurate and gives a good reading within a few seconds of sitting in the soil. None of their gauges are very easy to read. You need to remember to insert them at a steep angle so you can see the numbers easily and clearly. The display is not illuminated at all, so getting the correct light balance in order to read the numbers is a hassle. But it isn’t a dealbreaker. It’s priced decently and does the job.

Living in the north, I used to just guess when the soil was warm enough to plant my first vegetables. This has changed that. Now I read the seed packs and find the exact temp they need, then I plant the seeds when I know the soil is the perfect temperature for them. As far as I can tell (and my vegetables last year would probably agree guessing from how successful they were 🤣), the accuracy is good. The digital read out is quite quick, but not an instantaneous reading (within 30 seconds it settles on a final temperature). For reference, my included video is real time. If I could change one thing, I’d like it to beep or something when it’s reached the final temperature reading because sometimes I’m not sure when it’s reached the final temp. The sturdiness has been great. When it reaches the frozen layer in early spring, it doesn’t feel like it’s going to snap. If you live in a zone with a short growing season, this tool is worth it to ensure you aren't planting too early (and losing plants) or waiting too long.
