Great Compact OBDII Can Display in MPH, Fahrenheit, & MPG in top display area
The Autool x50 PLUS works perfectly with my 2008 Honda Pilot (OBD Type ISO 9141-2). It was delivered fast and looks great and is very simple to hook up, just one connection. The display has an auto turn on, it turns on when you start the car and an auto shutoff, shutoff time is adjustable up to 20 minutes after the car is turned off. The display is easy to see, day and night. The brightness level, is controlled by a light sensor and it is not manually adjustable. I have mine is setting in front of my instrument panel and the display brightness is just fine day or night. After installing the Autool x50 PLUS, I had some question, So, I emailed the seller “OBDIIShop” and they replied as quickly as hour later a couple of times, BUT, never longer than 24 hours, they appear to be closed on the weekends. The reply emails were very helpful in answering all my questions. Their customer service is great! The Autool x50 PLUS has Lots of customization options. The X50 PLUS has four area’s/positions on the main display. The Position 1 (Largest read out) can display MPH / Km/H speeds, coolant temperature in F or C, Fuel in MPG or LPH and many other read outs are available by just by toggling the switch below the display to the left or right. Position 2 and 3 (Smaller readouts in center left and right of display) can be configured to show multiple different measurements (Position 2 and 3 only display metric units NOT US/imperial units), I did not find this an issue because, I have mine set for Voltage and Engine RPM, Position 4 only can configure instantaneous fuel consumption or engine rotation progress bar display. I used mine mainly for Speed with the Speed Alarm on the Position 1 and MPG, (to prevent a heavy foot during acceleration) on the progress bar display. Both the large/primary and the progress bar display can easily be seen with a quick glance. The MPH speed alarm setting can be set in the Menu “Settings” under OverSpeedSet”. The easiest way to set it, is to convert the MPH you want the alarm sound at (use the internet for conversion), to Km/H and enter that speed into the ”OverSpeedSet”. The nicest thing about the speed alarm is the speed readout changes from white to red when you go over the speed alarm limit. If you don’t want the alarm to turn on just set it to 160 that is 99.41MPH, or use a higher number if you drive fastest than this. AVG and Current MPG are accurate, BUT you will need to go into the setting menu and make sure your “Engine Size” is correct and the “KPH” is set show your correct vehicle speed in MPH or Km/H which ever one you use while driving. After that you need to go through a few gas full ups and manually figure you gas mileage and then adjust the “Fuel Adjust %” in the menu settings, the more you do this, the AVG and Current MPG / Km/H Display will be more accurate. You have to do this even with “SCAN GAUGE”. I also have a SCAN GAUGE, but for information at a quick glance, the Autool X50 PLUS can’t be beat. “OBD Diagnose” lets you read and reset OBD scan codes, also you can read the real time active data that is available to your OBDII port, just go to Menu, “OBD Diagnose”, “DATA Stream”. It is great way to see why your Check Engine light is on. There are a lot of features in the Autool x50 Plus and I haven’t used them all, like the “Driving Test” Menu that check braking time and distance and Speed test.

Faulty, slow, and defective
I had hopes for this one and picked it up to be able to gauge my fuel economy on an older 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. Upon plugging it in, it caused all my gauges to go out of wack and lit a service light that wasn't there before and two more warning lights: disabling my Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and activating a slip light. This is a traction control system, I believe, and maybe it's just a warning light but the system nevertheless claimed it was disabled. All this from plugging this device in. It's easy to plug in and get working but, if I'm being honest, it's not practical. It takes nearly 1-2 minutes for it to actually read the computer and activate making it a nuisance really. Sending this one back as it failed to deliver. Maybe it's good for limited use but definitely not on a day-to-day, and not for my application.

Water Temp Gauge
The product easily connects to your OBD two port under your dash. It has lasted for over a year with no problems. My Scion does not have a water temperature gauge and I needed one for the hot Arizona weather I am in. You can mount it wherever you want because it has a 3-4 foot cord and I can easily see the numbers while I am driving. It also can cycle through other functions like a tachometer, a voltmeter, and other functions. But I primarily got it for the water temperature gauge. Well worth the money.

Good but has some limitations...
So I bought this guy for my 08 subaru wrx sti. It functions well enough tho the beeping when it turns on and off can be a bit annoying. As with many of these obd monitors the trouble for me comes with what it can display at one time. Ultimately I was just using this to monitor coolant temp and everything else on screen was on my normal dashboard and seemed silly. I ended up with a scangauge that at least could show multiple gauges of my choice on the same screen. If your dash doesn't work it's an option but otherwise there are better obd monitors on the market.

Engine saver.
This gadget saved my engine!!! Factory temp gauge does not give you specific temperature degrees readings. After installing this gadget, I quickly realized that my truck was running hotter than normal. About 15-20 (205-212)degrees hotter than normal. However, the needle in the cluster always remained in the middle. Anyway, I since fixed the issue that was causing my engine to run hot. Been perfect since. This gadget keeps me informed of everything that’s going on with my truck. Great for older vehicles with obd2, but not equipped with fancy digital gauges found in most modern cars. $30 vs $4k for new engine. You pick.

Does not Power Up after Starting Car and Can't Connect
2012 Chevy Cruze -Unit does not automatically come on after starting the car. You can unplug and re-plug in the USB cord at the back of the unit and it will come on ,but then says can't connect and shuts off. When you first power up the unit, it scans through multiple ODB protocols and supposedly will be able to sense and pick the correct protocol for your car, but it doesn't work. I bought one of these last year and it had the same problem and they sent me a circuit board to replace and worked. I figured they would have had these fixed by now.

Shot in the dark if it'll work on your car.
Only works on some vehicles, even if the OBD2 protocol is within its parameters. When it did work, it was very cool and easy to use. Dodge Neon: didn't work Nissan Altima: worked Honda S2000: didn't work
