desertcart.com: Windows 10 For Dummies: 9781119311041: Rathbone, Andy: Books Review: extremely helpful guide - this book is extremely helpful. It really takes time to go through things thoroughly and I appreciate that. It really lays it out in a logical manner. if you new to Windows 10 I think this book is really the way to go. Review: A simple manual anyone can understand - My lady is not computer literate and used only 10% of what the computer offers. After reading this book, she has opened up the treasures that have always been there for her—an amazing learning curve from such a source of knowledge.

Doesn't cover everything but quite useful
Since Windows 11 is such a major pain with or without a book, I tell my clients to stick with Win 10 as long as possible and this book is very useful for people who don't want to learn all the basics or can remember all the way back when things were easy.

Great Book for those that upgraded to Win10
Great book, just what I needed. Got a laptop with Win10 on it but am used to win7 on my other PCs. This new operating system is quite different to Win7 and the book explained a lot of things that would have takem me ages to figure out

OK but still requires tech knowledge to follow. All books of this sort follow the same route, they assume you are updating your knowledge from a previous system and I am not. Sort of like opening a science book in the middle and going from there. Everything I look up requires me to go from page to page until I can find the beginning. A good glossary would be great with no assumptions you know what any term means and also includes all terms, even those considered out dated.

Must Have for those no familiar with Windows 10
My godchild needed this and we got I for him. Explains everything from A-Z. Clear, concise and explains everything you need to know before you get there. Good book to have.

It's OK but could be better
Once you have located the subject you want explained, Windows 10 for Dummies is excellent and explaining a very arcane subject. However, like many of the "dummies" books about technical subjects, it lacks a really complete index. The chief reason most people get "dummies" books is because they really don't know much about the subject or need a really complete introduction. By their very nature they are not good for reading "cover to cover" but best used as a reference. Good references require and index that will anticipate the words that real "dummies" will want to have defined or otherwise explained. If you knew what subject the term belonged in you probably don't need a "dummies" book. I know Mr. Rathbone is capable of writing such a complete index. I wish he would.
