Works great
This is a quality grinder as it should be for the money. We have used it to make our dog's raw food diet. We use the coarse grinder then the fine grind on chicken (bones and all). A whole chicken leg will go down the feed tube and is easily ground. This is a fairly large piece of equipment and is heavy. We keep it on a rolling table so we don't have to lift it to move. It is made out of high quality materials and the pieces can be removed for easy cleaning.

Very nice machine.
I am very happy with this grinder. Purchased this to grind meat for raw food diet for a dog. It grinds chicken bones with no effort at all, the meat and bones go through with no strain at all. I can grind and bag 35 lg of chicken [ 2 Costco bags of thighs and 1 pack of 2 whole chickens] in less then 15 minutes, it takes 2 people, one grinding, the other bagging. The skin removal from the thighs and chopping up the 2 chicken took me 45 minutes. for a total of 1 hour. Clean up is relatively easy, rinse out leftover meat with hot water, then wash with soap and rinse - about 5 minutes. This Weston grinder was a nice change compared to a purchase I made of 2 grinders of another make that were DOA and had to return them and lost over 2 months grinding de-boned and de-skinned chicken with just a Kitchen Aide grinder attachment - which is good, however just a toy comparing to this Weston grinder. I do have a suggestion to Weston, at this price point there should be no sharp edges exposed - please round off the ends of the sheet metal, or modify the design so the cover does not extend and expose the sharp edges. I used a dremel to round off the sharp edges.

it works perfectly
So far, so good! I bought it used and saved over $300. Honestly, I don’t think it’s ever been used. The box was a little torn, but who cares about the box? Everything inside looked perfect. I’ll test it once I have some meat ready. It’s super heavy and way bigger than I expected. Oh, and the shipping box looked like it went ten rounds with a forklift, so yeah, I was a little nervous about whether it would even work. The grinder itself, though, looks almost perfect — just two tiny dents on the corners that you can barely see. Update: Tried it for the first time today — and no issues at all! It’s actually really quiet, much quieter than I expected. I saw a one-star review where some guy complained that he had to hold down the power button the whole time. That’s not true — you only hold it if it’s in reverse. I’ll admit, it looks a bit confusing at first, and I almost thought the same thing… but then my brain kicked in. I used it for chicken leg quarters — no problem at all. I did have to cut them a bit to fit, but no big deal. Cleaning was super easy, too. When I first got it, I thought it might never have been used, but after cleaning it, I’m pretty sure it was used — it just cleans up so well it looks brand new again. Maybe I got the grinder from the guy who thought you had to hold the power button down the whole time. 😂 Anyway, if you’re on the fence about getting it — do it. Totally worth it!

Amazing!
I’ve waited over a long time to write this review. I purchased this as a birthday gift for processing bear and deer for my boyfriend. We have had this for going on two years this January 2025. It works like we just bought it everytime we use it! Super fast, great HP, heavy duty, sleek design and super easy to put together. It is heavy! But absolutely amazing grinder.

Heavy Duty - worth it!
We started making our own raw dog food earlier this year. About once a month we grind up 40 lbs. of raw chicken using this grinder. It works great! We also grind raw vegetables to mix in with the chicken, as well as raw gizzards, liver, etc. Everything comes out perfectly. I saw a tip online to help clean it out - after the last of the meat has gone thru - drop some crackers into the chute. That really helps clean out the last bits of meat and then we just mix the cracker crumbs into the food as well. This grinder is very heavy but that's needed to grind bones. This was a big expense but we're very happy with it.

Grinder's augur runs backwards
Waited years to find this meat grinder on sale, I make raw food for my dog and needed one that can handle bones. Was very happy to get this over the holidays for 20% off, about $800, and purchased the LEM foot pedal to have better control over it. Both came very highly rated, and this grinder seems to be a powerhouse, very weighty so I don't need to worry about things shifting off my countertop. Just used it the other day with great difficulty-- the grinder is wired wrong and runs BACKWARDS, making it useless. The augur pulls the meat back towards the machine, turning it into a messy paste. I disassembled and reassembled it multiple times, triple-checking everything--it simply runs in reverse when you turn it on. In order to intentionally reverse the augur, you have to physically HOLD the lever in the back past the off setting, so there's no way to accidentally run it in reverse--it's just wired wrong. When I hold it in the reverse setting, the machine grinds normally, and does a great job, but the reverse function has to be held and only reverses for a few seconds. As it stands, my $1000 grinder is nearly unusable. Considering this is a $1k piece of machinery, this is disappointing and unacceptable. I'm posting this review in the hopes of being able to edit it later, after it has been repaired or replaced. In order to get in touch with Weston's customer service, you have to email them--no phone number is available, so I'm posting this first so they can see the video. All around it's been a deeply frustrating experience that should never have happened.

Terrific item
This is the greatest kitchen aid. It cut the grinding and the sausage making time in half. It was very easy to use and to clean.
