Lizard SkinsGrip

My daughter’s favorite go to bat tape. She loves the lizard skin 1.8mm because of the thicker grip. They have many options to choose from and ship quick. This is her favorite way to separate her bat from the everyone else’s and adds a nice touch to make it unique. The durability always holds up for multiple seasons. Will buy again.

Put on a new BBCOR Louisville Slugger Select Power. The factory grip is wound for righties and thin. It only lasted one session in the cages. Went with the 1.8 mm lizard skin grip. Same one we have used on the last 6 bats for my son. He is picky and they are all he uses. One con is that they are slightly difficult to apply on a tapered knob, so I used a small amount of electrical tape under the knob as well.

The grip quality is great. Love the Lizard Skin brand. As usual, installation is a pain and NOT 'easy and straightforward'. Wrapping this thing always gives me issues. I install 3-4 on my kids various bats as the season goes on. Hard to get the hang of install.

I'm not a fan of non-flared bat handles, so these grips are great add. In the past I would usually just layer up some additional tape under the bat grip to fatten it up a little, but these tapers make it much easier. I have both the standard and flared products and have used both in cage and game situations. The standard grip gets you closer to many wooden bats tapers and is pretty comfortable. I've recently switched to primarily using the flared taper, though. This fattens up the handle to the point where it can transition smoothly into the knob, which is particularly nice for those who get their pinky or ring finger on or under the knob. I did have to trim both a little to work on some narrow-handle bats I have. It came with double-sided tape to stick to the handle, but you'll still want to wrap the taper with electrical tape or similar to help the grip stay in place. Other notable is that the taper shape can make it a little difficult to get the handle wrap (grip tape) to sit nice and flat without wrinkling the edges. You'll need to stretch the grip a little tighter than normal and do more overlap to avoid this.

Love the quality and price range for these skins. Awesome colors too. I use them for men's softball bats and they last at least a season or two which is to be expected when you can have multiple players using the same bats.
