Basic, but Great Office Quality
Nice for basic, one-sided, black printing jobs. I did not even think to read if it could double-side print before I purchased it. I thought that was a standard feature for all printers. This one does not offer a double-sided print option. If I really needed to print on both sides, I could just reinsert the paper in the open tray. Positives for this printer, are that it has a nice print quality, and the printing speed is instantaneous. The setup was easy, too. I connected it to my desktop and it was ready to use. I didn't even need admin to get me through their protective network security layers. Plug and play. There were a lot of additional items in the box, including a CD, presumably for a hard drive set up, if needed. Thevdirections were straight forward. Downsides of this printer are a short receiving arm, and the paper tray is open, instead of enclosed like most printers. The website picture of this printer is a little deceptive because it looks like it is literally box shaped. However, when it is set up, the paper tray extends past the printer itself. The print quality is not superb, but it is perfect for forms, contracts, invoices, and other business type print jobs. I have not used the copy or scan features, so I cannot speak for those. Overall, this is an ideal, very simplistic, black ink, laser printer for the office. As long as you are not expecting grand features, this is a great printer for the price. I also found replacement cartridges for a very reasonable price. One more note: The packaging is very secure. It actually makes the printer look as if it is going to be twice the size that it actually is. Don't fret, it is small and compact, once you finally get it out of the huge box.

Seems to fit the bill.
This is my initial early revie, and I may later add to it or alter it. Above: The printer atop our rolltop desk. Our PC is Windows 11. We were searching for a multifnction laser printer, at first one that was also wireless. Ink jet was a nonstarter because ink is so costly and because if one does not use the printer a lot, the ik tends to dry out and then the printer won't work. We were very pleaantly surprised to see that this printer inclused a second toner cartridge, A $30+ bonus for free in the box! We wanted wireless because it is nice to be able to place the printer pretty much wherever we wanted to. But wireless would have added a lot to the cost. This printer connects via USB, and as a single computer household, we had no need for a sharable networked printer. But having to place it near our computer ade the printer 's form factor important to us. Fortunately, this printer has a small form factor; even smaller if we keep paper in the desk and keep the paper tray and output shelf closed unless we're using the printer. This printer replaces a Dell wireless laser multifunction printer that had a feeder, which the new Canon printer lacks, but we very, very seldom need to scan more than one page at a time. The Dell printer was one-side print/scan. The Dell printer would only work on slow wireless, and when we went to a 5G T-Moble gateway we had to connect the printer to the gateway using an ethernet cable. Then that stopped working and we had to connect it directly to the PC using a USB cable. Then the Dell printer bit the dust entirely, and tech support and/or repair became too costly or imposssible. Both the old and new printers also handle FAX, but we don't care about that; we never use it. Doctors' offices tend to use FAX, but will give out an e-mail address if pressed, or we can use snail mail if we must. Setup of the Canon printer was not too difficult. The pictures were a bit hard to follow, but common sense led me through. The instructions for downloading the Canon software could not account for changes in the browsers, etc., but again, common sense prevailed. Microsoft then subsumes everything and gives you its own print and scan apps. But Canon presents a special print/scan app library that we'll have to try. But a half hour after the printer arrived in a box to printing a test page and test scanning took about a half hour. I actually found this model first on the Dell web site but dealing with Dell was a nightmare. Its web site twice rejected our perfectly good credit card, and we could not reach a human being who could help. Then I found the same printer on Amazon, not only $1 cheaper, but also with 5% back on our Anazon card and shipping that got it to us in 2 days instead of a week. The next day I used the Canon device to scan a document that I needed to attach to an e-mail. It worked perfectly. I particularly liked the Canon app filing options.

Great printer/scanner combo! Dog disagrees.
I like it. It does what it's supposed to, quickly. It does warp the paper a bit but I assume that's because of the heat setting the powder. It was very easy to set up and get started with, and my computer is intelligent enough that I needed need to mess around a lot with connecting it or whether it'd be compatible. It was. On a fun and slightly related note, my dog absolutely hates it and tries to attack it when it makes any kind of sound, so I don't use it as often as I'd like to in fear of upsetting him. I've kicked him out of my bedroom to use it and he attacks and barks relentlessly at the door. I've tried exposure therapy with him and it only works if I am restraining him and able to stuff treats in his mouth which isn't a sustainable practice. Verdict? Product is absolutely fine and takes decent quality scans and prints wicked fast black and white. Does what I need it to do. My weird dog just thinks it's a demon that needs to be eradicated.

Not good for occasional use, crushes paper, hard to use
This machine replaced a Canon MF232w that I bought in December of 2014. That machine was perfect for my needs, but it started losing connectivity with my computer around 2 years ago, so it wouldn't send scans to the computer. The final straw was two weeks ago, when it wouldn't print without shutting it off and turning it back on again for each page, so I decided to replace it with another Canon machine. I wanted one that didn't have wi-fi on all of the time (we use Ethernet and don't want EMF in our environment), so I picked this one and tried it out. There is a major design flaw that leaves the paper supply exposed to the air because it isn't covered like the paper chamber in my old printer was. Because I don't print every day anymore, the paper absorbs moisture from the air in the room and when I tried to print anything, the paper gets crushed and wrinkled or totally jams the machine. The user manual says the solution to the problem is to use fresh paper, but I don't want to live with that or have to throw paper out because of it. The print quality is also not as good as my old printer had. There are ways to change the printer's settings that might fix that, but overall, I found it was difficult to use because of how one accessed those settings with those buttons on the front of the machine. The old machine allowed me to set preferences in the software, so I didn't have to memorize all those settings or keep going back to the user manual. Two days ago, after I tried to print two copies of a 3-page document and the printer ate 4 of the 6 pages, I decided I could not live with this printer and am returning it. I found a much better machine in the Brother line of printers and that seems to be the way things are right now with Canon printers. In looking through reviews of other Canon models, I discovered that other users also had been having problems with frequent jams and that they also occurred with HP printers, but the Brother DCP-L2640DW printer I got is excellent. I do not recommend this printer for anyone, although it might be okay if you do a lot of printing every day and go through paper fast enough that it doesn't accumulate moisture, and the print quality is adequate for your needs.

Setup took some time but everything worked the first time
It took me awhile to figure out how to remove all the packing material. Other than that I didn't have any problems. I didn't technically have enough space above the printer but it seems to work ok. (see photo) Note that the unboxing video I used said to plug in the USB cable before the drivers were installed. This is wrong. The written instructions that came with the printer say to install the drivers FIRST and THEN the USB cable. I plugged the computer end of the cable into an 7 port USB hub from Amazon. A test print worked flawlessly.

Easy setup, always works
Best printer I've ever owned. Have owned for 1.5 years, only use occasionally and it always works, no hassle.

NO More RAGE Against the Machine!
This is the printer I've been waiting for. It actually prints every time I ask it to, imagine that!?! I've used at least 3 printers over the past decade that run out of ink (even when there is still ink) and, most frustratingly, will never connect to my computer. I made sure to order one with a cord, and I am so glad. I've printed at least 500 pages in the last month and haven't had a single issue. Grante,d the cord is ugly, but well worth it. Buy and enjoy!

A little hard to set up.
This is a great printer scanner and it comes with a toner cartridge Only problem was with the software, We are using windows 11. After installing the software I could get either the scanner or the printer to show up. Never both. I reinstalled there software several times. It seemed random which would show up in settings. As last try I used 7zip to extract the drivers and installed them manually like back in the windows 3 days. Works fine after that and I am very happy. I have an ebay computer with a swapped out cpu and windows software from Microsoft not what came with computer so I assumed software problem was my computers fault.
