It can be challenging to find a leather sheath that doesn't cost more than the knife for which it's intended. That's particularly true when the knife wasn't intended to be carried in a sheath, such as the Kershaw Link folder. But the Link's a little bulky for pocket carry, so I've been looking for a nice sheath for belt carry. This Case seems to have fit the bill. Out of the bag it's quite stiff, but it responds well to some wet molding and conformed to the Link's shape quickly. Then it was a matter of a little brown polish and some mink oil to provide water resistance and a nice sheen. I also put a rivet above the stitching on the belt loop, partially to reinforce the stitching but mostly to make it snug on a 1.5" belt. It's still new, but so far it looks good, has great retention, and feels solid. No complaints.

I needed a belt sheath for my Opined no 8, but didn't want to pay more than $20 for paper-thin leather or fake leather. This is nice thick leather and fits my no.8 perfectly. It might fit a no.9 with a little stretching. I immediately mink oiled it to protect and soften it a little. I think I'm going to let the light tan leather age on its own for a little to see what kind of character it develops, but I like that I could always use polish or die to color it. Definitely worth the $12! I'm probably going to buy another for my Swiss Army electrician and I'll remember it when I get a Sod Buster (full size, this sheath might be a bit long for a buster jr.)
