It's totally fine
I was slightly hesitant after reading negative reviews but thought I'd give it a go for the money. So far, I have no lumps or weird plastic residue that people complain about, it didn't open up in transit or have loads of powder in the box, and the flavour is okay. It's actually pretty bland in flavour and not very chocolatey which for me is okay. I tend to blend it with some cottage cheese and a banana or something, or add it to foods such as yoghurt. If it was really sweet or chocolatey I think it would bother me for this reason. The main thing I've noticed between this and the Applied Nutrition stuff I had before is I need to add a tiny bit of honey to the things I use it in. I'm sure it's pretty brutal shaken up with milk or water as a pre or post workout shake but I can't comment on that. The only thing I'd say in response to that is NO workout shake is genuinely nice, you hold your nose and chug it down. If you want nice chocolate flavour, eat some chocolate! It's amazing value for money so I think it's worth it.

Overall good value
Only been using it for a couple of days. The taste isn’t the best, it’s not awful but not great, it doesn’t mix very well with my shaker, ends up still pretty lumpy. It’s sits quite heavy in your stomach. However when you take in to consideration how much you get for the price overall it will do the job and I’ll live with it

1 star is Generous, Truly Horrible
This is actually my first ever 1 star review. Normally I’d just move on, but I genuinely feel like I need to warn others about this. I only bought it because it seemed like great value 4kg for around £30 is much cheaper than most other brands. I read a mix of reviews and decided to take a chance, thinking at worst it would be okay for the price. Unfortunately, it was far worse than expected. On the positive side, it arrived quickly and when I first opened the bag it actually smelled quite nice. I couldn’t find a scoop inside, but I had a spare so not a huge issue. However, the taste is absolutely terrible. There’s no real hint of chocolate at all, and the aftertaste is honestly like smelly feet, really unpleasant. I gave it another chance using 2 scoops with 500ml of water, but that made things even worse. The consistency turned thick and glue like, and the taste somehow became even more unbearable. I even tried giving it away to friends, and every single one refused after trying it. It’s so bad I couldn’t even give it away for free. Really disappointing purchase, cheap for a reason. Avoid.

Flavour - Not an Issue
Not sure if it's a flavour related thing, but the chocolate is certainly palatable, could be stronger in taste, but certainly not unpleasant, I have 2 scoops in 500ml, my shaker has one of those wire ball things and after 30 second shaking, it's all but the odd smallest piece, mixed. Will buy again and certainly excellent value for money.

Great value, but at what cost?
On the surface this product seems too good to be true: 133 servings for 40 quid! It actually tastes good and I was very happy with this product for a while. I thought to myself, finally I have got a protein powder I can just keep buying. It mixes well and tastes well, what more could you want? The reason I've deducted stars is because I found bits of plastic inside near the bottom of tub. It looks like a coiled plastic seal and there are also little bits of plastic too. This is quite worrying, as judging by other reviews I'm not the only person to experience this. If the quality control is this bad then I wonder what else could be inside and what I could be ingesting. The fact it also comes without a label is also worrying, it's just a blank tub. So while this seems great value I'm not so sure if I'll order again due to concerns about safety.

Risk taker? Try it!
If your expecting this to be BETTER all round than your existing protein - it won't be. If your expecting a Rolls Royce but only want to pay for a Skoda - you'll be disappointed. If you're a Steady Eddy - stick with what you know and continue spending £100+ on the same thing you always buy. BUT - if youre willing to take a punt (it's only 35 quid!!!) and set your expectations at a reasonable level you WILL NOT be disappointed!! First off - If you read most of the reviews about taste, you'll come away thinking this is basically dog poo mixed with sand. Not sure what product everybody else got (or their expectations) but what I got was absolutely fine. Keep in mind it's THIRTY FIVE quid for FOUR kg of this stuff! I ordered chocolate. It definitely doesn't taste like chocolate. I mixed 35g with a scoop of unflavoured BCAA powder and a teaspoon of creatine and, although I got an ants sneeze of chocolate taste, I was pleasantly surprised. My expectations given price were a LOT LOT lower! The most surprising thing was that my mix basically tasted like blended up oats!! I swear if I was blind tested I would have guessed it was blended oats. Mix - i simply dumped mine in a shaker. 400ml water. Bcca. Creatine. Shook a few times. Even with the grainyness of the creatine, overall the whole thing was very smooth. You'll get a bit of cakeiness with less water because of the casein - but just add a touch more water. Overall I was surprised how smooth it was! Again my expectations were a lot lower! It arrived packed fine, no spillage or broken box like others. Maybe I was lucky! But again - keep in mind you are paying £35 for 4kg of this stuff! FOUR KILOGRAMS!! If your willing to give it a go and set reasonable expectations I think you will be pleasantly surprised. As I was! And if you don't like it, you've not lost your whole life savings at the end of the day.

Value.
This is a massive help in my training as i am on 180g of protein a day. FYI, the difference in bcaa between whey and soy protein is about 5%. So i would say not much difference in real results.
