Could this use trangia alcohol burners instead?

Theoretically yes it can, the diameter of the cans should be the right size... but you have to be sooooo careful with alcohol burners... one little spill and the fire is not where you want it....... but theoretically yes, an alcohol burner would work in this unit. Just Be Careful Please.

Is it 200 square feet with 2 cans ??? WhAt is it with 3??

We designed the Vesta as an emergency space heater for rooms in your home. Most rooms are 10’x12’ -12x12’. Using 3 cans of heat, we confidently say the Vesta can heat those rooms. Will 2 cans provide a good source of heat? Absolutely it will. And if your in a smaller 8’x10’ room 2 cans will do the job. Does this need to be in a ventilated area if used indoors

Yes, the room should be ventilated if used indoors: Canned heat is chafing fuel—odorless, smokeless, nontoxic, and generally safe for indoor use. It is still HIGHLY recommended to provide adequate ventilation in any room where it is in use.

It has a fan, what kind of battery powers the fan, voltage and amps, is it rechargeable ?

This is a heat activated fan, it works on thermal dynamics, there are no batteries, the heat from the canned heat under the fan is what provides the power to the fan. It takes about 8 minutes before the fan starts to turn when the unit is first lit.
