best switch puller I've ever used, works 100% of the time
Was finally replacing the stock switches on a board and I needed something to streamline the process/protect my fingies. This thing nailed it. The keycap puller is fine, it's a bit wider than the standard ones (the cheap/free 2 in 1 tools out there), but I prefer the the more basic one. No I grabbed this to pull switches and it is perfect for that. Easily the best switch puller out there. All you've gotta do is align the little metal prongs in a north south orientation (of the switch), gently press down until it clicks into place, give it a little wiggle as you pull up, done. It works every time. Press the button to send the pulled switch flying, try to hit your friends or enemies! Good stuff. If you have to use a lot of force, you're not doing it right. There were a few keys that I thought were being stubborn ... nope. I didn't have the puller fully seated properly. No worries, push the button to release and you can go again. Nailed it. You will need to exercise a bit more care around keys wider than 1u, anything with stabilizers, or anything else directly adjacent to the switch. They will decrease the amount of wiggle room (literally) you have to remove the switch. It's cool. Be gentle, wiggle the puller in whatever direction isn't blocked, and they'll pop free. My only complaint/feedback, is that I would like a dedicated tool without the keycap puller wires, or at least a reliable way to remove and reattach them. They kind of get in they way and pop loose from their little pressure fit nooks. Not a fan. Oh also the amazon listing is confusing. There are multiple versions of this tool and there do seem to be differences in the revisions, but it's not clear what those are beyond the different colorways. Still, this is 100% the tool I was looking for. The switch puller is unbeaten. The last switch came off as effortlessly as the first. Any problems? Not for me. But I've seen people having issues with the puller scratching the plates of their boards, the plastic of the puller itself breaking, and a few others. I've experienced none of that, and speaking specifically for the latest release red model I can't imagine how you'd accomplish that. The plate scratching sure, depends on your plate material. I've got a white plate, not metal, and didn't get a single scratch. At no point did the plastic of the puller feel like it was over stressed or flexing, certainly not to the extent that it would break. This thing feels really well made for it's compact size. Similarly the metal prongs of the switch puller themselves have retained their clamping force, probably because the design of the puller braces the prongs against the plastic/resin/whatever housing of the puller itself. Whatever the case again, be patient and don't torque like crazy on your switches. If you slow down just a little bit and go for accuracy when aligning the switch puller you're going to fly through the process. And it's weirdly kind of relaxing and fun. Ejecting the switches adds a little chaos as they go flying off in random directions to an otherwise repetitive/meditative process. Anyway I love this thing. My little fingies are super happy, and so am I.

Definite must-have for mechanical keyboard work
My keyboard came with an over-long metal strip bent into a U, and one of the prongs intended to unclip the actual key was too short. It took me literally over an hour of cursing and fighting with my low-profile switches with my original to swap 104 keys. With this tool, it was SO MUCH BETTER. It was fast. It was worth the cost for me because I have two keyboards, and room mates with their own mechanicals, and nobody had a tool for it. They've let their molds go a little too long, the wire loops for pulling keys just don't stay clipped on one side and act like they're bent even though they aren't, but beyond that it was pretty perfectly built. Seems solid and reliable, from an engineering eye it's a good minimum build. The eject button is a bit of a launcher, so lay out a cloth to shoot your keys at or they'll dance across your desk. I found the most consistent use by appling next to no force ever, and just rocking until I heard the clicks of the keyswitch releasing on each side. When I tried to pull more, it always made things worse. A little side-to-side while twisting back and forth slightly, and I could legitimately go through more than two keyswitches in ten seconds. That's pretty respectable to me. A must-have if you're doing a keyswitch swap, moreso if you do several.

Great switch puller, weak keycap puller. Questionable value
The keycap puller included in this kit doesn’t work very well and feels a bit flimsy, making it harder to remove keycaps cleanly without readjusting it multiple times. That said, the switch puller works extremely well and is clearly the highlight of the product. It grips switches securely and makes removing them fast, smooth, and much less frustrating compared to cheaper or poorly designed pullers. While I wouldn’t say this kit is worth the full $16 based solely on the overall package, the quality and effectiveness of the switch puller alone does save a significant amount of time and effort. If you frequently swap switches or work on mechanical keyboards, that convenience may make it worthwhile, even if the keycap puller falls short.

Smart Design, Really Hangs on to Switches!
I had a heck of a time pulling the original OEM key switches on my Keychron Q6 Pro, but this combo key switch and keycap puller hung on and refused to let go until I clicked the top button to release it! The keycap puller itself is a bit MEH, you have to squeeze the sides of the keycap puller in order to get a grip on the keycaps and more often than not the keycap flew off in another direction after pulling. I stopped using it (keycap puller) and used the cheap one sent with my replacement caps (it worked much better). I was thinking about dropping a star rating on this because of the keycap puller but reminded myself that I purchased this primarily for the switch puller, and it worked like a champ, in fact it really impressed me. The switches stayed in the puller after pulling them until you ejected them from it using the top release button, very, very cool. This is a smart design and based on the amount of force I had to use to get the original OEM switches to release, I can safely say that this is also one tough puller that is going to last me a long time!

Do not buy this
Works like crap, broke my esc now I have to buy a new one. If it didn’t break it completely I would have to soulder it and take out the pins from my keyboard! The video is nothing like the truth.

Truly AWESOME at removing keys, useless for switches. I now have TWO tools for ONE job.
This is a GREAT tool for removing key caps. It looks good, is economical in size and feels good in the hand. However... I can't get it to pull switches for the life of me... to the point to where I had to go with a different company's puller to deal with switches - ironically, THAT one doesn't pull keys for beans. Go figure. Being that it only performs HALF the job for which it was chosen, I feel like this should earn two stars. It DOES get keys off SUPER easy and doesn't fling them across the room... sooo... I'm upping it to three stars from the original two.

I found this to be excellent for the money. All-in-one unit that is a decent size to hold and use. Recommended for light use and occasional keyboard cleans and servicing.

Bought this to replace the pullers that come with switches and keyboards and I am glad I did. Keycaps easily come off. And the ability to remove switches with it definitely takes away from the fear of damaging the caps or switches. Would recommend 5/5
