Easy to understand
As I am new to sewing, I was looking for some easy to follow ideas. This book had them. Pictures were great and directions easy to understand.

This book is giving me the inspiration I need to dust off my grandmothers sewing machine and get back to sewing. There is a great variety of projects: garments, bags, interesting things for the house (the plant pot covers are unexpected and look especially nice!). I really like how most of the projects are quite flexible and there are easy instructions for how to adapt (like for the seat covers and the pillow). I also really appreciate the how-to "workshop" section at the end... instead of having those key skills buried within the instructions, it makes much more sense to have this handy reference at the end. The "workshop" section had the clearest explanation for how to put in zippers in that I have seen (for some reason that has always seemed very difficult to me!!).

Excellent choice for encouraging young people to learn how to sew with a sewing machine. Good modern projects to entice young people to have a go. Clear instructions, easy to follow. Would recommend for a beginner or intermediate.

I’m a complete sewing novice. This book is helpful in some ways but I’ve found it difficult to understand some of the instructions easily so haven’t actually had the energy to try any of the projects yet. I was hoping for a complete idiots guide. This would probably be more helpful so someone with at least some basic ideas of what to do or definitely someone with more patience than me.

I bought this to get some good ideas to use with my new sewing machine. As a beginner I wanted easy to follow suggestions. This was perfect. I’ve now made several items from the book and they have all worked well together
