Walkabout Stick

I'm a very big guy with a very bad knee, so I have a growing collection of canes. Cold Steel makes all of my favorites, and there's some very good reasons. This cane, like most of Cold Steel's lineup, is pretty much indestructible. As a very big guy who has bent aluminum canes, I really, really appreciate the fact that I can't break this guy. There's videos of people running over them with semi trucks, and I believe it. Like most Cold Steel canes, it's a little long, but they do that so people like my friend who is 6'11" can use them out of the box. The rest of us need to cut them down, which I did. I took 7" off mine, and it fits perfectly now. I used an angle grinder with a cutofff wheel, and it took about 20 minutes to get through this cane. I imagine that there's a better way, but I used what I had. I added a foot to mine, and since I cut mine, I had to drill a hole for the bolt to hold it in. You will need the widest foot you can find, as the shaft is pretty thick, a few thousandths over an inch where I cut it. This cane is going to live in my car for when I need one and I forgot my usual one at home. Because it's made of glass-reinforced nylon, it's resistant to the hot and cold we get where I live, so I'm not worried about it staying there. The top, where you put your hand, is comfortable to hold, but my arm gets a little tired after using it for an extended period, mostly because I'm used to another cane with a t-shaped handle, not the rounded ball that this cane has I could get used to it, but since it's a backup, I'm not worried about it. Overall, this is yet another great Cold Steel cane. Not my first, and I'll probably end up with more.

Well made, seems strong. I'm 6'5" and felt like I wanted to saw a little bit off in order to put a end cap on it, so it's plenty long for most men, might be too long for small people.

Impulse buy, but I’m happy with it. Thought it would be just a little taller tho, but that’s my fault.

This is the last walking stick you're going to have! It's super strong and unbreakable, a little bit heavy but well wert the price.

Perfect as a defensive walking stick. I carry it on dog walks to protect the dog! :-)

Description said it was cedar wood but it is just basically hard plastic with wood grain texture! Very disappointed

Sweet Jesus, it's so girthy! Definitely sturdy, but way clunkier than I had imagined. Not even a stick, but rather a big ol' walking branch. If you need a cane that will also knock a brick wall down, this is the one. Unfortunately, I was hoping for something nimbler.

Sarebbe utile, e onesto, cancellare la parola coltello, perche' non esiste! E comunque...lasciate perdere bastoni animati e coltelli piu' o meno nascosti. Creano rischi, sia di codice penale, sia per la vostra incolumita'. Perche' chi vi minaccia ha iniziato l'azione prima di voi, che nagari state mangiando un gelato. Siamo indifesi. Finto bastone da passeggio e vero bastone da combattimento, invita ad eseguire esercizi fisici e di concentrazione. Ottimo per chi, come me, sente il peso degli anni.
