However, the pendant itself is nearly impossible to install. The canopy is not wide enough to cover a standard light box, so you cannot replace an existing fixture with this without closing up some of the electrical box hole in your ceiling. The canopy does not connect to the electrical fixture box at all, as is standard with American light fixtures. Instead, you're supposed to hang a mug hook from your ceiling and attach it to a plastic piece within the tiny canopy. You can't get this to install tight to the ceiling, and there's no weight-bearing stud to screw that hook into - your wires come out of the electrical box, about 4 inches away from the nearest stud/joist.
