## Overview

PC Products PC-7 is a two-part heavy-duty epoxy paste designed for multipurpose bonding, sealing, and filling. With a tensile strength of 2150 PSI and a service temperature range from -20°F to 200°F, it offers durable, waterproof repairs on materials like wood, metal, concrete, glass, and more. Its 60-minute working time and 24-hour full cure allow precise application and a tough, chemical-resistant finish ideal for demanding indoor and outdoor projects.

## Description

Product Description PC-7 is the tough job epoxy. This paste epoxy was formulated for maximum bonding power. When mixed, components A (grey) and B (black) reacts to form a bond of tremendous strength. PC-7 formulation provides extended working time, for large and critical jobs, which allow the user to reposition work or make changes. High "wet grab" or tack of PC-7 Paste Epoxy makes overhead and sidewall work easy without drip or sag. PC-7 demonstrates excellent chemical resistance to mild acids, caustics, detergents, gasoline, fuel oil, salt, and fresh water. Approximately equal amounts of A and B by volume; variations of either component as high as 20 percent will not affect the bond strength. When desirable, one part of A to two parts B may be used to increase elasticity (expansion joints, etc.). In cold or cool temperatures, place PC-7 container near heat prior to using. PC-7 mixes and spreads easier at 80 degree F than at 40 degree F. Any clean smooth flat surface is an excellent surface for mixing and working. A small putty knife or flexible artist spatula are great tools for mixing and applying PC-7. Use with as adhesive: wood, metal (all types), glass, brick, block, rubber, concrete, stone, slate, fiberglass, tile, and more in any and all combinations; as sealant: oil, gas, water tanks, cellar cracks, pressure tanks, and plumbing leaks; as a filler: holes, castings, patterns, molds, voids, welds, steering wheels and much more. Work time (70 degree F): 60 minutes. Tack free cure time: 160 minutes. Cure for service: 24 hours. Maximum cure: 7 day. Gardner impact resistance: 160 in./Lb. Conduction (electric): non conductive. Excellent thermal shock. Non toxic once cured. Heat range: -20 to 200 degree F. From the Manufacturer PC-Products, celebrating 75 years of “Fixing Your Things”, with quality, reliable repair products. Repair solutions for just about anything that needs repair or what you can manage to break. From Concrete to Wood restoration and heavy duty permanent repairs, we have you covered.Yeah; We can fix that

Review: Strong Epoxy That Really Gets the Job Done - Strong Epoxy That Really Gets the Job Done This is one of those products that every DIYer or homeowner should probably keep around. I’ve used a lot of adhesives and repair products over the years, and this epoxy feels genuinely heavy duty. Once mixed, it forms a thick paste that stays where you put it instead of dripping everywhere, which makes it especially useful for vertical surfaces, cracks, chipped areas, masonry, tile, or odd repairs around the house. What I like most is the working time. You’re not rushed like with fast-setting epoxies, so you actually have time to shape it, position things properly, and make adjustments before it hardens. Once cured, it feels extremely solid and durable. I also appreciate that it can be sanded and painted afterward for a cleaner finished look. I found it especially useful as a filler as well as an adhesive. The thick consistency makes it good for rebuilding missing material or filling voids rather than just gluing two surfaces together. A few things to keep in mind: this is definitely not a quick-fix epoxy. Cure time is on the slower side, so patience is required. It’s also thick and a little messy to mix, so gloves and a mixing surface are a good idea. Surface prep matters—a clean, roughened surface gives the best results. Bottom Line: If you want a strong, versatile epoxy for serious repairs and don’t mind waiting for a full cure, this is excellent stuff. Not the fastest product, but very strong and dependable once it sets.
Review: Takes it's time but does the job. - ***Updated 12/05/2016***** Looks like the repair on the gas tank didn't last more than a 1-1/2 months. Went out and checked the gas tank on the car yesterday and while the fuel hasn't broken through and started leaking yet. There is an obvious bubble where the gas has escaped the tank and is now sitting between the product patch and the steel. You can push up on it and hear the gas/air going back into the tank. The product isn't wet to the touch yet and there's no gas smell, so it's resisting the gas but in time I imagine it will fail. As noted before, I tried every other product out there for patching gas tanks over the years and had high hopes that this would be my savior. Hopefully the patch will hold till the spring and I will just drop the tank and braze or weld the holes and be done with it. Using the proper safety procedures of course. *** End Update**** I used this product to repair a gas tank that was "weeping" fuel. PC-7 not only fixed that issue but the small 1/8" hole I made with the grinding wheel in the tank knocking down previously applied products. I had previously tried almost all of the products meant to fix leaking gas tanks and they all failed. Either immediately or shortly thereafter. Because it takes 24 hr's to cure @ 73 degrees F and longer when the temperature is below that, I wouldn't recommend this product if your stuck somewhere and need to get the car back on the road in a few hours. But your best chance at a successful and long lasting repair means you'll need to invest some time. The product is easy to mix and has a fudge factor of about 20% so if you add a little too much of one part you should still be alright. As with any repair of this type, the sheet metal has to be dry, free of dirt, oil, grease, and most importantly gasoline. If you use soap or glycerine to stop the leak you'll end up with a poor bond between the metal and the product. Best to drain the fuel from the tank and open the fuel cap to relieve the pressure in the tank Clean, abrade, and clean again. Make sure you see no fuel coming out of the area your trying to repair. I recommend picking up some denatured alcohol from a local big box store. Not only can you use it as the final cleaning step but it helps when applying the product as you can put some on a "gloved" finger and smooth out the product. Or use a acid brush for the same thing. You can also apply heat to the product to make it a little more malleable. Caution use the lowest setting on your heat gun or hair dryer and keep the heat at a minimum. Heat at a temperature of over 100 Degrees F will cause the material to turn into a pile of goop. Also be careful using heat anywhere near a gas tank. Lastly when you've applied the product you'll need to give it time to fully cure before adding gas to the tank. If the product isn't fully cured it will not resist the gasoline and the leak will re-occur. At that point you'll have to start all over again. Being the fall, I waited almost a week which wasn't a problem since the car isn't my daily driver. All in all, the product did what I needed it for albeit it takes longer than similar products on the market. Time will tell if the repair lasts.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What's the shelf life (not mixed of course)?**
A: Their website says 2+ years. I personally have mixed PC-7 that I had for 5+ years and it worked. The paste seemed somewhat drier during mixing than newly purchased PC-7.

**Q: Is this product paintable?**
A: this product is paintable

**Q: How does this compare to JB Weld?**
A: This product is thicker than JB weld. A little too thick such that it cannot be shaped too easily. The product is not suitable for flexible surface as expected for epoxy. Other than that, it is almost in par with JB weld.

**Q: Is this hard like plastic or hard like metal when it is cured? Because i wanted to use this on some plastic**
A: It is like the plastic on steering wheels of 60s cars a bit like baklite but it sands well and can be painted and used to restore steering wheels ,before using on plastic be sure to scuff the plastic and clean it of any grease it also helps to grind a V in the plastic do not just put it on top of your repair also with Pc 7 it is very important to get the ratio correct and be patient and let it cure ,I sometimes would have to wait three days but if done correctly it's a very good epoxy better than most ,I have used it since 1994
