If you want little droop, it pulls enough to well support its own weight. If you want long extension with low force, you may be looking for something droopier (or maybe not... read on). I decided to bring some numbers, including a sample amount of force, to the tautness topic. Unstretched, and measuring from the strain reliefs rather than the ends, my unit measures about 16" (~4.5" from full-size end, 6" coil, 5.5" from micro end). After experimenting with stretching, I concluded the force I felt comfortable applying to connected equipment was at about doubling of the coil length, giving a stretched length of 22" (plus a little bit of connector at each end). The cable is capable of more stretch; that's merely beyond my own comfort zone. The coil length-doubling stretch took about 9 ozf ("ounces force"), or just over 1/2 lbf ("pound force"). I found a USB.org standard giving minimum unmating (pullout) forces of 10 N (Newtons) for full-size USB and 8 N for micro. The smaller 8 N value converts to almost 1.8 lbf (almost 29 ozf), so my "comfort limit" is near 1/3 the inline force that might dislodge a straight-connector cable. If I need a bit more stretch, I can almost certainly safely have some. The cable worked fine for directly plugging into my phone and for use with a  fold-flat wireless charger  set on the passenger car seat (hint: set charger between other, stable, objects so phone won't fall off either side). I was able to use the cable handily from either the "usual" cigarette lighter-style power outlet or from one hidden within a center-console compartment: either use didn't need much stretch in my case. For me, this cable handles Quick Charge 2 (and 3) rates fine. Plugging directly into my phone (which had come with a Quick Charge 2 charger) and the Quick Charge 3 outlet of a  car charger  raised the phone's charge level from 58% to 68% in 10 minutes, a rate of 60 %pt/hr (percentage points per hour). That's slightly faster (possibly just due to imprecision?) than I've measured with the phone's factory charging equipment. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good charge, stiff chord *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2018* The charge chord works fine. The only complaint, and the reason for a 4 star and not a 5, is the coiled part of the chord is so stiff that when I pick up my phone it doesn't stretch very easy. It puts a lot of stress on the side entry of the micro and usb. I forcefully stretch it and have been for weeks to loosen it up, but still very tightly coiled. The chord is suppose to extend to like 6ft., but it can't without the pulling stress on the usb and micro plugs. It states to be an easy stretch and recoil, but it is not. Other than that the charging is great and with the sideways plug the chord doesn't get bent while I use it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Angled? pay attention *by D***R on Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2020* I purchased this particular cable specifically because it has an angled plug. When I received it the angle was in the opposite direction that I thought it would be. Pay close attention to this if ordering this item because it may turn out to be angled opposite what you thought it would be.
