Review: The cleanest, most precise and potent amplifier I have used, however..... - Everything in the title is correct. If you have passive monitors, these amps should be on your short list to audition. The "however" part involves getting world-class performance out of the amplifiers. I am using two of these switched into mono to drive a pair of Amphion Two18 monitors (rated at 4 Ohms). Behringer does not recommend a 4 Ohm speaker for use in mono mode, however I do not push them hard. In my small space they play as loud as I ever want, and only one LED on the power meter lights up during peak volume. There are about 15 LEDs on that meter range. I tried one amp in stereo, but it sounds better to my ears in mono-block mode. I am also driving them with a high end DAC and a passive monitor controller. Reports are that the built-in volume control on the amps do not sound great, so I am not using those. (Just crank the amp to maximum and it bypasses the volume control.) The "however": Straight out of the box, I was not thrilled with the sound, compared with my existing amplifiers. As the day wore on, I was increasingly impressed and I wondered if my ears were adjusting to the sound. I shut everything down for the night, then powered up the next morning and once again I was not impressed. Again by the end of the day I was happy. This went on for several days, then I decided to try leaving the amplifiers running constantly. That was the magic trick. These amps need to be on continuously if you want the very best sound quality out of them. They are Class D, but they do run slightly warm to the touch. Not hot by any means, just above room temp. I tried stacking them directly on top of each other, but they run too hot for my taste. Not burn-your-hand hot, but hot enough that I feel it would shorten the life of the components. Amplifiers are sensitive to power quality so, I use a power filter on each amplifier. I tried them both plugged into one filter, but they sound cleaner when each is on its own filter. The one I use is available on desertcart for $179.00 currently: https://smile.desertcart.com/AC-Power-Filter-Conditioner-Protector/dp/B00XWL2VVK/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1HFVFKH0M75KT&dchild=1&keywords=power+filter+audio&qid=1591885701&sprefix=power+filter%2Caps%2C155&sr=8-3 In case that link is not working, the description is: AC Power Filter Power Conditioner - WAudio AC Power Purifier with Surge Protector So, if you are an audiophile who wants an amplifier that adds pretty character and warmth to the sound, these are not for you. If you are in my camp of wanting the most transparent, clean, punchy sound so that you can hear exactly what every little change to your system (or mix) is doing, these just might be for you. Don't get me wrong, these amps are easy on the ears, but you can clearly tell what was a bad recording, a poor mix, or what has been over compressed. Good work sparkles and shines through these amps. You need to try them for yourself, of course, but keep in mind what you need to do to get the best out of them. Just let them run 24/7, feed them clean power and good quality signal.
Review: Amazingly clean and clear. Power Levels are accurate. - I am running a martin Logan ESL C center channel with this amp in Mono mode. Wow this amp puts out the power. It is clean and clear-true to what Behringer is known for. I would not call this amp musical or nuanced, it is studio grade though, dead silent operation and you can hear what was recorded. Hi Fi guys might find it boring or lack of character, but that is sort of the point of an amp like this-you hear what was recorded-bright and clear. Since my usage and purpose of this amp is Home Theatre, I like it because it reveals the true quality of the actual soundtrack. It is not ideal for your perfectly silky smooth, warm, stereo vinyl only listening room, but it is ideal if you have a big ole center channel that you want to drive and fill a home theatre without breaking the bank. I am not using even half the gain and it more than is capable of driving my ESL and filling the room which is 18'X16' with 4 adults in home theatre seating. For my purposes and at the price point- 5 stars! --Little Update after a month of use one the Martin Logan ESL-C. Just buy this amp if you have electrostatics! I think I am going to buy another one. For the price, you would have to spend 3K+ more to actually find an amp that works as well. You would need to get into Macintosh, Parasound, Anthem etc. price ranges. If you set your crossovers to 60HZ, this amp powers electrostats and the ESL C just fine.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for subs!
*by C***R on September 15, 2020*

Using these amps for my living room passive subwoofer rack system with a custom made 15" subwoofer cabinet & 6" tuned port. The subwoofer is a Skar Audio SVR D4 model (dual 4 ohm). Each amplifier is bridged to run 2x mono. In order to get the best/cleanest power to the amplifier I am using a Furman PL PRO C20 (currently $350 on Amazon). Does it help...100% YES! These Behringer A800 amps both in mono mode will bottom out this Skar Audio subwoofer before "going into the red" on the VU meters...incredible ability! The amplifier: - Very lightweight - Standard AC power cord - No distortion, hum, hiss, or other mental- bipolar disorder design hangups - Runs cool...even at high volumes - Handles 4 ohm subs with ease (in my case 4 ohm/4 ohm for L-R) - Clipping circuity works - Volume knobs are 30 dB ones...plenty of range - 20 Hz is "all there". Amp doesn't freak out with low freqs and aggressive volume levels - Actual dyno tests on this amp... ~300w @ 4 ohms per channel effective (prob peaks closer to 500w each) - Class D architecture for efficiency and low-low power consumption (I just leave them on) - Sexy looking (and useful) LED front panel VU/dB power output level indicators...def "pro" looking BOTTOM LINE: I am using professional/stage equipment with XLR (balanced) connections which will give you professional level noise cancelling results. I am a deeeeeep bass loving freak. These amps have plenty of power and fidelity to throw a 15" sub around with ease: with clear and distortion free effectiveness. In fact, they bottom out the Skar Audio sub that has a RMS power rating of 800 watts). Lastly, yes, those are JBL Model L96 studio monitors from 1980...100% restored. Pretty happy with these Behringer A800 amplifiers and their ability to drive my DIY subwoofer system. In mono/bridged mode, they are beasts. Plenty of wall shaking power when used as subwoofer amps. Zehr GUTE!
