It was smashed into a brown box that was damp from the rainy weather and flour was spilling out. This could not possibly pass food safety standards. There was no plastic around the flour (which is packaged in paper!!) and if wasn't so darn expensive I would have thrown it out for fear of it being contaminated in some way. Really, was it sent like this all the way from the UK, amazon?? If you can find another seller or ensure better packaging this is worth a try. We just used it to make pancakes and I was amazed at the quality. My husband has the intolerance to gluten and we mostly eat fresh naturally gluten free meals with the occasional treat. If we're going to have a treat we want it to be something nice! Not a compromised product. The consistency was perfect! There is buckwheat in this product which I certainly noticed in the flavour and will keep in mind as I choose which recipes to use it in.
