The instructions recommends a "step drill bit". I started by drilling a 1/8" pilot hole, as I was drilling into the mold seam. Once that was drilled, I used my step drill bit to drill to 1/2", stopping just short of 1/2" so I'd have a VERY tight fit. I forced vent cap in, using a socket to keep the pressure centered. I should note here, that you want to have the cap position as you want it, as once it's seated, it will be near impossible to turn! The vent cap fit was perfect & completely air tight! :) **Q: Will this fit a Clinton P20 - 2 gallon can?** A: The Chilton threads are larger than those on Blitz cans and others.
