Not for young kids. FYI I was no good at the cross word puzzles. There's also a matching game. Memory games. Short Stories with questions. Some math. Word puzzles. Good mix of puzzles. Some puzzles are easy, some medium difficulty and some difficult. Good variety. The print quality of the pictures could be better, but they probably had to keep the cost down. Puzzle types do repeat but the clues/stories change - it's got a lot of puzzles to play. Normal size type font maybe 14 pt. The red background on some of the pages might make it harder to read for bad eyes.
