Thank you. **Q: Can you use it on raw bedsore skin** A: Now that I am not sure about. We used the Triad cream for wound care on my elderly dad. It worked well for that. As for just protecting skinthat's not necessarily a wound, we used calmoseptine ointment. **Q: Is this good for very badly cracked skin?** A: Triad is very good for severe skin irritation due to incontinence. **Q: what's the difference between this product and Destin** A: I work in a wound clinic. Desitin is generally a very creamy zinc oxide. An excellent barrier to apply to a patient's buttocks, perineum, perianal area, vulvar area to reduce moisture associate skin damage from urine, sweat, stool, etc. It will NOT stick or cover OPEN wounds. It is water "phobic". This is the difference between it and Triad. Triad water or moisture loving, "philic" if you will. It will adhere when applied in a thin layer over superficial, partial thickness and shallow full thickness wounds (generally used on areas too hard to make dressings stick) like the buttocks, sacrum, perineum, etc. Apply it to the wound bed 1-3 times a day, and just out side the wound edges, but save the other in tact skin and large areas of "normal skin" for the cheaper Desitin. Remember Desitin wide around the wound, this stuff is for open wounds and breaks in skin. It can help clean them up (autolytically debride them) as much as protect them. I hope this helps a bit more and saves some money with use. You need Vaseline and gall pads, as well as ADAPT powder, but it will clear up any diaper rush.
