Once it says 7.5 water to 3 rice in another it says 1 1/4 water to 1 rice?** A: I find that 1 c rice to 1-2/3 c water usually results in a firm but not hard cooked rice. Combine cold water w/ rinsed rice, bring to slow boil, then reduce heat and simmer, covered for 25-35 minutes or until water is absorbed. Have never been able to get more water to absorb and had to drain excess after cooking if I used more water. Rice ends up firm and "nutty", but the texture is one of my favorite qualities about red rice. But the rice has a good taste that we both enjoy very much and has not disappointed in any way. It is also far healthier than white rice and so it is now our go to rice.
