So far, this has worked well to help my balance while I'm throwing decoys. Its something solid to hang onto, when my foot takes a misstep and normally my heart sinks into my stomach. I have used it for one season as much as I could, because my buddies steal it from where its tied to the gunnel and use it first.The only issues I can see is that I do worry about how long the clasp will last (part that keeps the pole extended to desired length), but so far it has worked well.
