Unusually, this seems to work. It doesn't eliminate the scale but it has significantly extended the cleaning interval. Hint - to get the purified water flow, you have to HOLD IN the button on the unit for whole time you want to use the purified flow. The instructions are vague on this. Fitting is easy but the refills are a horrendous price. I'm extending the change-out interval at the moment and I can't see any deterioration so far in the performance, though I am wary of any issues with contamination build up in the cartridge. I opened one after three months use and it was perfectly fresh.
