But it's not really intended to do so. Think of this less like a "fan" that blows air straight on you. It certainly does that, but it's column of air is so narrow and direct that it's not really ideal for that. Rather, think of this as a circulator. Point it at the wall above your bed and there will be no fight over who is getting the better end of the fan because it will legitimately spray the air from where the fab is located to wherever it is pointed. Point it from the floor to near the corner of the ceiling and wall above your bed and everything and everyone along that wall will get bathed in air, lam to he while everything in the room is mixed as if I a perfect air burrito. No chinks of warm air. Just everything perfect. **Q: Does it have an oil port on the motor?** A: Had this fan for 5 years, and it is one of the best fans you can buy. Problems are it doesn't oscillate, and the fan gets full of dust. Recently the fan started making a noise and the fan blade was not moving. Took the fan apart including the motor and motor housing. Cleaned all of the dust out and sprayed some of the plastic parts in the shower with hot water. The motor rotor was still not spinning, so lubricated both ends of the rotor rod with wd40, and it is back to new again. Have the Vornado heater, and that's a nice product. Looking for another large Vornado fan with a stand and oscillation, remote. **Q: Does anyone use this fan to force cool air from downstairs, up into the warmer second level of home, by placing it near the foot of a staircase?** A: I have this fan on the floor of a room that sits below a balcony hallway. I have the fan pointed to move the cool air up into the higher spaces. It seems to move a large amount of air pretty quickly and relatively quietly compared to other fans twice its diameter. It quickly mixes the cooler air from below with the warmer air up in the high spaces to even out the temperature. I have an ecobee system with multiple temperature monitors. I need a fan blowing on me most of the year. I can put it all the way across the room, put it on the lowest speed setting and it it's like the best breeze I ever felt while being totally silent. On full speed it's a little bit noisy but nothing radical. I'm amazed by how much air this thing moves. It's like being in front of a much larger fan. The size makes it pretty easy to find a good place and it's easy to move it. Aiming isn't critical because it has a wider coverage area than you'd think just by looking at it. I was hesitant because of the high price for a plastic fan but now I'm glad I bought it. The motor looks like it's relatively strong so I'm hoping it'll be reliable. I don't like the soft buttons that beep though. I want physical dial.
