Perfect for point-and-shoot, as well as helmet (POV) cameras. Spins up to 360-degrees over an hour of time. For cameras less than 16oz (does NOT support DSLR cameras), software not included, not water resistant, and not to be used on moving objects.

Review: Simple, well made, Easy - While this certainly will not rotate a DSLR with fat heavy lens, it will do point and shoots and gropro camera perfectly. Which is what it's made for. You -can- do smaller DSLRs like a Canon Rebel and a small kit lens like a 18-55 with no battery grip. But that will be the limit.
Review: Poor quality control - The device is cool and works as described. My only complain is that when I opened the box it came in, I noticed that it was wrapped in plastic and it looked a bit cheap for what the product sells for. When I took it out of the plastic, the camalapse 3 came apart. The bottom was separated from the upper part that houses the mechanism. It seems like the two parts are kept together by three tiny plastic studs from the lower part. No signs of screws or glue to secure the parts together. I could snap both parts back in, but every time I try to use it I have to be careful because it is always coming apart. I'm going to contact the manufacturer about any warranty that can cover this problem. Another minor issue is that when the mechanism is about to finish rotating, it may stop short or before time. If you twist it for 15 minutes, it may stop short a few minutes. Depending on the weight of the camera, this may or may not happen. I think this could be better if the device itself was more robust, a bit heavier and a more solid casing. Hopefully newer versions can improve this product. Happy to wait for the next gen to give it 5 stars!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this device rotate clockwise and counterclockwise? Or is it unidirectional?**
A: It is much like a kitchen timer. You turn it clockwise and returns counterclockwise.  It has markings that indicate 15, 30 and 60 minutes. The camera will also record the ticking sound of the camalapse. I've noticed that it stops before it reaches 0. For silent recordings with phones or point and shoot cameras, or even the GoPro, Camalapse works fine. Personally I'd have preferred a silent and more accurate device. It won't hold a DSLR tho. Hope this helps.

**Q: Is there anyway to do 360 degrees but in less time than 60 minutes?**
A: You can stack 2 devices to cut the time in half.  They are threaded on top and bottom. If you want more control look into a motorized device.

**Q: with the mobile mount, and the camera (iphone) angle be tilted?  or can the iphone only be set at 90° ?**
A: That's a good question. iPhone on mobile mount on Camalapse will not tilt UNLESS Camalapse is on a head which tilts. It might be a bit funky looking to tilt and rotate camera at the same time though...

**Q: Is there an option to run for the full hour, but only rotate a certain degree? i.e. 90 degrees in 60 minutes, or 157 degrees in 30 minutes?**
A: Unfortunately, this is based on a 1-hour 360 degree rotation and it cannot be adjusted. Every 15 min it rotates 90 degrees. I would have preferred a different option and actually do not use this because it does not work well for what I want.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A cheap solution.

I successfully used the Camalapse with my GoPro Hero3. Pros: * Works as advertised. * Smooth and consistent motion, perfect for time lapse photography. * Looks good. I like the graphic design. It does have some limitations: * It feels fragile, and I'm afraid to throw it in my bag. * It probably will not work with any camera bigger than a cell phone. * It only rotates counter-clockwise (when viewed from above) (unless you flip it upside down). * You can't adjust the speed. 1 revolution per hour.
