The clikstand is easy to assemble and provides a rock solid, steady base for my pot* even when the cooking surface isn't completely level. The clikstand slightly elevates my Trangia burner which allows for better combustion (almost impossible to do with homemade stands). The combustion is optimized by the air holes at the bottom of the stand. Also the distance between the burner and the pot is optimized (difficult to dial in with homemade stoves). The stand breaks down to four almost-flat nesting pieces and the windscreen stores inside my pot. There's nothing fragile about the dismantled clikstand and it can be stored anywhere in your pack without damaging other gear.My Clikstand weighs 2.4ozmy windscreen weighs .7oz(You can save an ounce or two by using the Evernew alcohol stove instead of a Trangia)This isn't the lightest-weight stand around but its stability and fuel efficiency make up for the few extra grams, especially in the true backcountry where there are no picnic tables or flat spots to cook. As advances are made in lightweight materials, a lot of UL backpacking equipment quickly becomes obsolete. But I have a feeling I'll be using my clikstand for many years to come.*Since I'm using an MSR ti kettle I had to bend the stand's prongs in slightly, but they bent smoothly with no wrinkles, cracking, or weakening of the metal. No harm was done.
