My blood pressure has been running extremely high and medicine was not working. I started using the Tia Chi DVD and it has had a tremendous impact on controlling my blood pressure and helping me reduce my stress and feelings of anxiety, --Tai Chi Productions Tai Chi for Beginners, October 25, 2012 By Charlene M Miller Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Tai Chi for Beginners - 8 Lessons By Dr Paul Lam - Updated VERSION (DVD) I am taking Tai Chi lessons and I bought this dvd to practice at home as my instructor uses Dr Paul Lam's techniques. I found that I understand the movements much better when using the dvd at home than in the class. Dr Lam instructs you very slowly and clearly; the movements are more precise and simplified. You are able to go back and repeat a lesson if you are not confident that you are doing it correctly. The warm up section is great for gaining balance, confidence and peacefulness. If all I have time for are the warm up movements and lesson one I still have a calm, relaxed feeling when I head out the door. One of the best things about this dvd is that you can practice over and over again in the privacy of your own home and not be concerned if you make a mistake; you can just keep moving and do not have to be concerned about keeping the pace with the rest of the class. I purchased this dvd from desertcart.com and I am completely satisfied and happy with the purchase! --desertcart Excellent teacher! Posted by Tina L. on 13th Jan 2014 I have always wanted to learn Tai Chi but was unable to find any instructors where I live. I had purchased a different Tai Chi for beginners DVD and was not pleased with the format. The beginner DVD that Dr. Lam has is wonderful. He explains everything very clearly. I also enjoy the fact that he has a front and back view as it throws me off trying to learn facing someone especially on the TV. I am looking forward to purchasing more of his DVDs. As a matter of fact, I will be recommending him to my neighbor who also wanted to learn Tai Chi. He is an excellent instructor. I recommend his DVDs for anyone who wants to learn Tai Chi. They are very helpful and easy to learn. --Tai Chi Productions

Review: Excellent introduction to Tai Chi - I've found this DVD to be very helpful in learning basic movements that make the first 6 forms (of the 24 Forms) much easier to learn. The sections introducing basic Qigong are also helpful, since it's always good to do some Qigong before and after a Tai Chi practice session. I'd also recommend Dr. Lam's follow up DVD, The 24 Forms, after you've worked your way through Tai Chi for Beginners.
Review: Five Hours of Excellent Verbal and Visual Tai Chi Instruction - I am just beginning to learn Tai Chi and taking a class once per week. The teacher is a lovely woman, but all we do is follow her movements (as she faces the class – unfortunately), which are different each time (except for the warm up exercises) – I am learning nothing about Tai Chi itself and I basically feel like a clumsy idiot. This five-hour instructional DVD provides an overview of relevant Tai Chi information, as well as clear verbal and visual (including both front-facing and back facing views) explanations for each and every movement noted below. Dr. Lam is highly knowledgeable, wonderfully encouraging and beautifully graceful. By following his guidance for a few months, it might be a pleasure to rejoin the live class. The DVD includes the following: Tai Chi for Beginners DVD I. How to Use this Program II. Introduction III. Stay Safe IV. Eight Lessons with Dr. Lam (the following sequence occurs 8 times for Lessons #1 – #8) A. Welcome B. Warm Up Exercises C. Learn Through Lesson # (previous lesson) D. Learn New Forms E. Learn Through Lesson # (current lesson) F. Cool Down Exercises G. Message V. Demonstration by Dr. Lam (front facing) VI. Demonstration by Dr. Lam (back facing) VII. The Six Easy Steps A. Step 1 – One Warm Up Exercises B. Step 2 – Two Stretching Exercises for each part of the body 1. Neck 2. Shoulders 3. Hips 4. Knees 5. Ankles C. Step 3 – Three Cooling Down Exercises 1. Punching Thigh 2. Tense and Relax 3. Gathering Qi D. Step 4 – Four Qigong Exercises 1. The Posture of Infinity 2. The Posture of Tai Chi 3. The Posture of Opening and Closing 4. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ( alone and sad) But it was good, slow
*by P***R on November 25, 2016*

It was ok, ended up going to a class. Too slow and i needed someone to make me get going and do it.. The CD still sits in the CD player. ( alone and sad) But it was good, slow ...easy to follow. Really for the beginner. After going to class, i realized i could of done it by myself. but the motivation was not there. I really helps my balance a ton. IF YOUR THE MOTIVATED SORT OF PERSON....
