My last one bought from an as-seen-on-tv store lasted for 8 years. I may have broke it by using the local super-calcified water on tap.This one came with a used box but it works just as well. It came with all the attachments I have long lost with my last one. I take it everywhere when I travel, even to a wedding where I had to steam my bridesmaid dress and husband's suit. It works well on silk as well as 100% cotton collared shirts in a pinch. Best thing about it is that it heats in 2 minutes. Please learn your technique to steaming! Start at the top of the garment and move the steamer side to side quickly. Keep your hand holding the garment tight at least 5 inches away from the steamer. "Blurping" water is ok. It will dry fast. I hate to iron and have burnt many tabletops and towels doing so. This is a great solution for people on the go. It takes me only 10 extra minutes to steam a shirt before work. It saves time and energy from having to throw clothes in the dryer.
