I was struggling with a pinched nerve in my neck, and suffering tingling and numbness down my left arm! I started with an inflatable traction device, that helped a little. But, when I got this and started stretching my upper thoracic spine, it’s been a game changer! The more you use this, the more comfortable it becomes to relax and I’ve been able to actually get β€˜pops’ or releases from my normally very tight upper back! My chiropractor has probably thought I died, as I haven’t had to see him in months now! And, after going up to 3 times weekly for adjustments trying to get out of this mess....this has been the best investment I’ve made in my health! My best friend, and my co worker have also purchased one and have had similar results! I have since bought a second one that I keep at work. The only thing that sucks is you need really intimate knowledge of postural muscle anatomy to figure out how to use these because there is literally one video that exists and it's only for the occipivot. I own every single piece in this set and they all serve different purposes. I have several postural issues, including a posterior tilted pelvis and forward head posture. This has helped me correct that much faster than my Alexander Technique classes. Physical therapy never even touched on those deficits of mine. I also have fibromyalgia (they think) so my muscles are constantly tight. The first day I used it I was very sore and could only use for a few minutes. They recommend starting with 2 minutes, but I started with around 5 so my muscles had time to relax into the correct position. Now I can use it for 10-15. That's about all I would recommend at a time. If your muscles don't feel better after laying in that position for that long then you have it in the wrong position.Occipivot is used by itself and provides the best neck stretch and releases the suboccipital muscles. Excellent.The standard thoracic piece is used by itself and provides the most widening of your chest and releases your lower ribcage entirely. Wonderful.The other three pieces are always used together and I find the best position is to line yourself up like the lady in the (one!) picture they give you where you have the bottom of the lumbar piece near your tailbone. This allows your lower spine to have it's natural curvature, and for me this was painful at first because of my tilted pelvis. Like I said though, using this for the week or two that I've had it (several times a day) has come close to correcting that. I am a Massage Therapist and bought to help relieve tightness in my neck and also to investigate if it might be something that could benefit my clients. The first time I used it, I didn't feel like it was working how I expected. I then did a therapy move where you contract the area you are trying to loosen (the neck in this case) for a few seconds, then relaxed, and felt how much space the device gave my cervical vertebra. This feels AMAZING. I coupled this with the Thoracic Pivot and was even more impressed. It feels like my spine is just weightless, placed perfectly to relieve the constant tension and opposing force of gravity.
