**Q: What size power supply is required to power this magnet?  How many mA?**
A: For 24 volt DC operation 250 mA is required.  For 12 volt operation 500 mA is required.  For the most secure hold make sure that the door plate is centered so that the full magnetic seal is covered.- Access control systems installer, 9 years

**Q: Will it work with a Liftmaster LA400 or 500?**
A: This is not a sealed unit, if mounting on an exterior location this would become an issue.(Search for "sealed Maglock") As far as technical operation the gate controller should have MAGLOCK contacts. **Q: Is the lock suitable for a sliding door application?**
A: I don't think it is made for a sliding door.

**Q: How does one use a remote to activate and deactivate the lock?**
A: RioRand Wireless Relay Remote Receiver Control Board Self-Lock DC 12V 1-Channel IR Switch ControllerIs a device you can wire it with the normally close side of the relay, and switch ground from a 12dc power supply wired thru the above device

Mag Lock works like it should. These are great items when doing security installs or upgrades.

The lock itself is GREAT... we use it on our double storm doors to our Glass Shop. That being said, be aware that the manufacturer sort of "forgets" to tell you what else is need to set it up... like a POWER SOURCE & the one we finally found recommended has to be adapted to use it for this lock. Secondly, if you don't want to be constantly plugging & unplugging it, you will need a "switch".... & not the one shown that says "OPEN" which will only work the brief time you are touching it. We finally put an in line toggle switch at a comfortable height & now WE LOVE IT! We turn it on at night & off during the day.... Note, the power source will need the "plug end" removed, determine the polarity & solder the wires into the locking mechanism.
