If you're unsure how to do this ExtremeRate have 'how to" videos on their Youtube channel. But as long as your delicate with the ribbon cables and follow the instruction video, your nan could do it without her reading prescription. works perfectly with my screen unit and no docking issues on the stand. finished nicely with a soft touch feel for comfort and slight grip. I opted for the black housings. Despite the image looking slightly grey, they are in fact the matt black colour Joy-cons batman would own. I also bought the LED tuning kit for the joy-con indicators and dock which complete the look perfectly. highly recommend for people that don't want to spend £70 on a new set of Nintendo Joy-con units just for the sake of changing the colour. this is a much better alternative.

As if plates itself they are good plastic quality but it tend to show fingerprints and needs cleaning from time to time.

**Q: Can you remove these shells once you have fitted them? I wanted to practice on an old controller first, then remove it and put it on a new joycon**
A: Yes, though I would be extremely careful with the screws, and buy a good quality Y00 screwdriver separately to remove the screws. The screwdriver supplied with the kit has a tendency to shred the screws real easy.

**Q: Does this come with everything you need?**
A: The package includes a set of replacement housing shells, buttons, and a set of toolsets.

**Q: From reading the reviews, I don't want to use the tools provided. What screwdrivers are needed? And is there any additional tools that will help?**
A: Hello, replacing these requires a 1.5mm PH00 screwdriver, and a 1.5mm Y00 screwdriver.

**Q: Could you just put the shells on and not the other stuff?**
A: No unfortunately it’s not that easy, but it’s not overly complicated the only advice I can give when changing the shells is don’t force anything together or apart, do one at a time as one side is more difficult than the other and watch some videos on YouTube. I found it easy to do but I’m a IT geek, once you’ve done it you will probably do it again. Hope that helps.

### ⭐ Rendered two left joycons useless.

Pro: The installation is easy and it comes with quite a few extra screws and springs. Con: In the parts package there is an unknown white, round plastic part, which appears to neither fit anywhere, not is mentioned at all on the YouTube video description for the assembly. The plastic of the shell is too soft - through no effort at all several screw holes have been wound through as there appeared no difference from winding the screw in to "no further". This means several holes have no grip and the shell is rather loose. Specifically the ZL button appeared to be a particular pain in the backside which has destroyed some connections on that part when clipping it in - making the controller pretty much useless. Not only have I spent £32 on two shells which are basically broken - I now have to find myself two new left joycons. Gutted. Absolute waste.
