It's German 2. It's Stylish I take this pen into my office everyday and no one compliments me, but I silently judge all of them for not noticing the sleek perfect craftsmanship of my pen. They don't recognize the distinct effort and curation on my part to select the fanciest of utilitarian items for my desk, but I know that I am superior in this way. The other reasons were hopes that it would be comfortable, reliable, and long lasting. Even the box exudes eccentric German design, letting you know you've purchased a very special pen. I've used these pens before but I always loose them per my fault. This pen is great for non-artistic writing and note taking. I find the hard plastic body especially comfortable in my hands as I have a very firm grip and often press hard on the paper. You can't go wrong with this, it's a luxury pen you can afford. Review: A new favorite pen - I write a lot for work and journal as well. I’ve tried many pens but most of the time my hand cramps up because the pen is either too heavy or too thin. This one hits the best for both. It’s light weight and not very thin at all. I like the triangular rip too. It really helps. I’m up in the air about gel pens so this being a ball point is what i definitely like. Refills don’t seem expensive at all. Not sure if I can get a refill at the big box office stores but plenty of selection here on desertcart. ## Features - Ballpoint pen in sturdy, ABS plastic - Characteristic ergonomic grip - Flexible metal clip - Ships with black ink refill ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B001341O5M | | Additional Features | Refillable | | Age Range (Description) | Adult | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Best Sellers Rank | #209,778 in Office Products ( See Top 100 in Office Products ) #5,496 in Ballpoint Pens | | Body Shape | Round | | Brand | Lamy | | Brand Name | Lamy | | Closure Type | Snap | | Color | Charcoal | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 445 Reviews | | Drill Point | Medium | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00021274029061, 04014519029090, 04014519088578 | | Grip Type | ergonomic grip | | Hand Orientation | Ambidextrous | | Hardness | H | | Included Components | ballpoint pen, ink refill | | Ink Base | Water | | Ink Color | Black | | Item Dimensions | 5.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 inches | | Item Type Name | Medium | | Item Weight | 14 g | | Line Size | 0.5mm | | Manufacturer | Lamy | | Material | plastic/metal clip | | Material Type | plastic/metal clip | | Model Name | safari | | Model Number | L217 | | Recommended Uses For Product | Home, Office, School | | Style | ballpoint pen | | UPC | 002127429061 524883074311 021274029061 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | Lamy guarantees that our products will be repaired at no charge in case of possible flaws in material or workmanship during a period of 2 years from the date of purchase - except for damage from improper use or normal wear. | | Writing Instrument Form | Ballpoint Pen | | Writing Technique | ballpoint | ## Product Details - **Age Range (Description):** Adult - **Brand:** Lamy - **Color:** Charcoal - **Ink Color:** Black - **Writing Instrument Form:** Ballpoint Pen ## Images ![Safari Ballpoint Pen - Model 217 - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/412ztxR9mFL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's Eccentric, German, and Stylish *by D***S on January 20, 2017* I purchased this pen for 2 reasons: 1. It's German 2. It's Stylish I take this pen into my office everyday and no one compliments me, but I silently judge all of them for not noticing the sleek perfect craftsmanship of my pen. Not sure if I can get a refill at the big box office stores but plenty of selection here on Amazon. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for regular use in harsher environments, not the easiest on the eyes but great for the hand! *by A***R on December 21, 2019* The ABS construction makes this a fairly suitable pen for regular use in a warehouse or production environment being chemically resistant and durable. Writing action is excellent per the usual for Lamy. Excellent if you like the tri-grip style Only complaint is the rubber “spring” style tube cover that hides the click mechanism. I can see that during regular use in a warehouse or production environment that it could be easily damaged. ## Frequently Bought Together - LAMY Safari Ballpoint Pen - Model 217 - Lamy Safari Charcoal Rollerball Pen - Charcoal - Model 317 - Lamy 3 x M63 Rollerball Refill Blue (DB18560) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.at/products/12084585-safari-ballpoint-pen-model-217](https://www.desertcart.at/products/12084585-safari-ballpoint-pen-model-217) --- *Product available on Desertcart Austria* *Store origin: AT* *Last updated: 2026-11-05*
