It was on tight and in a place where I just could not get a good hold of it. It occurred to me to look on Amazon for a tool. There are quite a few, some with mixed reviews, and some a few dollars cheaper. This one looked to be very solidly made and had a "made in the USA" label. It is very solid. I don't think it's going to inadvertently bend or break. It does have a 45-degree angle on the end as all of the tools I saw did. It might have worked a little easier for me if it had been straight. But, I was able to rotate the cable boot around and position the pliers in the tight opening well enough to get a good hold of the boot and after proper positioning, it easily pulled the boot off with zero damage to the thin metal cladding around the boot.
