desertcart.com: Candy-O: CDs & Vinyl

Review: Another classic gets the full MFSL treatment. - I was really surprised when this was released. It was mastered at RTI which has the reputation of being one of the greatest vinyl manufactures in the US. This album got the full MFSL treatment being released on 180 gram vinyl. I have the original Japanese Release with its OBI and it sounds great, but this sounds incredible with no crackling or pops if well cared for. The songs are great songs from my youth. They include: Side one: 1. "Let's Go" 2. "Since I Held You" 3. "It's All I Can Do" 4. "Double Life" 5. "Shoo Be Doo" 6. "Candy-O" Side Two 7. "Nightspots" 8. "You Can't Hold on Too Long" 9. "Lust for Kicks" 10. "Got a Lot on My Head" 11. "Dangerous Type" This is without a doubt one, if not the best, Cars album ever released. It was the beginning of synthesizers and New Wave music and it took the world by storm. If you have a turntable and like this album, you should buy it before they are gone. These are numbered and even though they press quite a lot of them, once they are out of production, they increase in value at a rapid rate. Just wish they would give "Panorama" the MFSL treatment. This takes me back to being a teen in the early eighties and all the excess that went with that amazing decade of time. The one thing I wish desertcart would start doing is allowing the vinyl to be opened at the buyers request and shipped outside of the sleeve. This is how all of my "go to sellers " for vinyl ship the vinyl I buy from them and I never get any seam splits. I have more seam splits from desertcart than any other dealer. The MFSL are not as bad about this as others, but I have a couple that have shipping seam splits. I buy a lot of vinyl from Japan and I never get seam splits because they ship the vinyl outside of the cover. I would buy more from desertcart if they started this option.
Review: "Can I touch you or are you out of touch?" - "Candy-O" by The Cars is a tantalizing album. Besides the sexy, sizzling cover - the band wasted no time in putting out a playful and carefree record. This album was released a year after their breakthrough debut album and "Candy-O" didn't suffer from the dreaded sophomore slump. This album is full of flavor. "Let's Go" will make you smile (love those handclaps) and "It's All I Can Do" will break your heart. The Cars really showed their artistry on tracks like the wicked "Dangerous Type", and the delicious "Lust For Kicks". The title track is oh so naughty and my favorite track is "Double Life" (excellent guitar solo). Every song is drenched in irresistible synths, (synths galore to be exact!) and Ric Ocasek and Benjamin Orr had the most unique voices from the new wave era. I wasn't even born when "Candy-O" was released but I've always gravitated towards this kind of music. It's fun and glittery but not in a fluffy, artificial kind of way. I believe that The Cars were an underrated band. The music they created was completely infectious and ahead of its time. If you don't believe me, then all you got to do is listen to "Night Spots" and prove me wrong. "Candy-O" will leave you in a state of pure, unabashed ecstasy. Ear candy at its finest. Enjoy!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cars Candy O album Is perfect
*by H***R on February 7, 2023*

I really liked how will the packaging was solid even had a layer of bubble wrap to keep the album nice and tight inside. The album cover came with a really nice plastic protective sleeve that I will continue to use to protect the cover. The album has no defects, no ticks nothing but pure vinyl perfection. Sounds, I think better than when I purchased this album in 1979 / 80 thanks for all the effort getting me this album in perfect condition!!
