**Q: what size designs does it make, (how big are the openings?**
A: Good Morning!
You only can make designs the size of the actual circle, about 4 inches around, some of the holes are small but it still makes great designs. So easy to use and if you mix and match some designs with others, they come out really great.

**Q: Is the ink washable?**
A: Yes

**Q: What size replacement markers or pens fit with the holes?**
A: They only refer to them as art markers but they have a longer, more narrow tip, apparently so they fit into the holes. I use my gel pens also for finer lined designs. This cyclex one has become my favorite over the big Spirograph. Can do quicker designs. Easier for kids, too.

**Q: Will these pieces fit with Spirograph junior?**
A: The pieces don't come apart in this set. All the wheels are set in the red frame you can see in the stock photo. It makes it very easy to use for beginners. I purchased for my 4 year old & she uses it independently. Since the pieces are set there's nothing to lose. They still move in circles in true Spirograph fashion.

I bought this for my daughter's 10th birthday as I used to love mine 30 years ago, and it's still great. As it's all in one, there isn't any cogs or pieces to loose so fits neatly away, and it makes lovely pictures too. My daughter was thrilled with the patterns it produced and found it easy to use. Some people have commented that it is stiff, but I think it's all about technique / practise - also use a roller ball or biro rather than felt tips. As an age guide, my ten year old could do it no problems, seven year old found it a little difficult to do but just needed a little practise, and my pre-schooler four year old found it too fiddly.
