These were like gold dust decades ago.A solid unit, metal cased, PC type mains lead and fan (silent so far), rubber feet that grip, two sets of spade to croc leads, can use banana plugs.The voltage and current controls are 5-turn pots, so there is fine control to power an LED at a sensible forward voltage directly, without a resistor. See pic.For CC mode, first set maximum voltage, turn current control fully anti-clockwise, connect circuit and slowly increase current control.
