Review: 5 WEEK OLD BLUEBERRIES - I felt compelled to write this review after successfully just eating 5 week old blueberries. Yes, that’s right, 5 week old blueberries. I was on a recent health kick where I bought a ton of fruits and chia and making chia pudding breakfasts- which, of course, lasted about a week. That was six weeks ago. My second week I bought all my fruit, rinsed them, and put 2 containers of blueberries in my berry keeper. 3 weeks go by and I’m like ick I am not looking forward to cleaning THAT out. So I put it off two more weeks, because I’m 25 and I let things rot in my fridge. Well howdy do da. Today I open the container and the berries were not moldy. Not mushy. They were firm. I was confused but I ate one cautiously. Well it was delicious so I ate a handful and put the rest back in my fridge. I don’t know what kind of sorcery is contained in this product but if it keeps blueberries for 5 weeks sign me up for ten more. Can I keep motivation in there ? That is my blueberry story. Raspberries probably 1.5. I bought two- so that’s like at least 4 containers of fruit... I’m one person and if I have more Fruit that that in my fridge at one time then I must be a Fruit bat and only surviving on berries. The shelf is nice but unnecessary if you’re packing in tons of blueberries. For its price, if this helps you finish like two containers of berries before they rot, it pays for itself in savings of wasted food. I still would buy them but you should know before hand. *by G***) on January 8, 2016* I LOVE these things and have purchased 2 Lettuce and 2 Veggie Keepers. They do the job and help keep expensive produce fresher, longer. Mine still look brand new after 10 months except one bottom has cracked just like the images by other reviewers. This poses no problems yet since there is a little lip inside that should keep the water inside the trough. If the crack gets larger then the water will drip out of the bottom. My Lettuce Keepers are great too and keep my lettuce and kale fresh much longer. In this case the TOPS are both crack around the lip. This should not hamper the usefulness of the product since there are vents on the side that let air in for many items and a little crack will only let in more air. If there was another product that I bought with such a high failure rate I would give it 1 star. These are great and the defects should not make them less effective for their use. I believe the cold temps of the fridge and the thin material used play a factor in these problems.
