The handle on the one I received even has some “rainbow flash” in it when looked at closely in good lighting. The larger side on mine has very little “pink” in it; it looks closer to clear quartz, but it is rose quartz, just very light pink, it’s just not what would be considered “top quality”, regarding the color, which makes zero difference in its performance.I took off a star because the rose quartz in these are not drilled through, with the metal rod going through the rollers. Just the very ends have a slight drill, small plastic caps glued inside, with the roller “bar” fitted into the ends. This means that the quartz can fairly easily fall out. The handle is a bit slippery, and a little difficult to hold (especially for 5 to 10 minutes, as they suggest). The first day I owned this, I accidentally dropped it while sitting down, onto a rug, and the larger roller fell out. I was able to pop it back in, and it still works (for now) if I roll very, very gently. Honestly, I picked this because it was cheaper than some others, and I wanted to try it to see if it would help my allergy-related, morning puffy eyes problem. I can say yes, it does help! And better for me than using a cream product that helps puffy eyes, because even with the “hypoallergenic” products, I can get skin gets skin irritation/redness with those. Now that I know it works for my issue, I’m going to buy a better, more expensive one—with the quartz drilled all the way through and the metal roller arm going all the way through, and see if I can find one with a more ergonomic handle, for ease of use.So, for the price, it’s okay if you don’t put any pressure on it. The back of the box says not to clean it with hot water, or let it soak. Rose quartz is not harmed by hot water, soap and water, or even “soaking in” water. I do suspect that hot water may cause the glue used to apply the end caps for the ends of the metal roller “bar” to fail, and I don’t think the metal used to make this would do well soaking in water.Update: 8/27/22: After much searching, it seems all of the crystal rollers sold on Amazon are made the same way: the “bar” does not go through the crystal. As much as I like the idea of using a roller made from crystal (and they are much prettier!), I found only one roller which advertises in its listing to have a roller bar that goes all the way through, and it is made out of stainless steel. It also happens to be the most expensive one sold on Amazon ($27 as of 8/22). I bought it, as I think it will hold up much better than all the others. I think it’s especially important to have one that I am confident will not come apart since I am using around my eye area (very carefully—they don’t really recommend for these to be used exactly the way I am using them for my eye issue), especially because I saw a review in which another customer, using a crystal roller, had the stone pop out during use, and the exposed metal end cut her face. The stainless steel one is much heavier, and feel “solid” in your hand. It you want one that lasts, and in my opinion, is safer, you may want to invest in the more (most!) expensive one.One other note: The day I received this crystal one, I used on one side of my face, and noticed a very big difference, especially in my eye puffiness, and my eye puffiness is much more extreme than “normal puffiness”. I looked closely every day, and without even using it a single more time—eight days later, there was STILL a marked difference in my eye puffiness of the side this was used on! I am ASTOUNDED that a single use makes so much difference—why didn’t I get one of these sooner! $27 is nothing compared to the (literally) thousands of dollars I have spent on allergists, ophthalmologists, prescriptions, eye drops and creams (including steroids), etc. I still need my allergy meds, but I have found a NATURAL solution to one of my most distressing symptoms: severe morning eye puffiness—and am quite happy about that! I also learned that I won’t need to use this everyday; once a week is probably perfect. So for me, it was definitely worth the investment for me to buy the better model, which I hope will last for years. The stainless steel feels so good after removing from the refrigerator, and can be properly sterilized. If you want to see how much these may help you, get an inexpensive one, like this one first, and try it. I absolutely love it. It's super cool and refreshing to my skin.
