Review: Truly is a square edge! - Does exactly what it is supposed to do. I have a lot of edges from hand plane blades to chisels and for whatever reason most of them have ended up out of square. I assume it was my old honing guide and grinding setup has caused this issue because every blade is out of square the same amount. When I first started using this jig I initially thought this was grinding the bevels uneven and ended up triple checking everything, including re-truing my stone. Once I started on another plane blade that was grinding the same exact way I thought I'd throw a square on my edge. Come to find out the Tormek setup was grinding perfectly square and all my blades were out of square which makes sense now that I think back to the adjustments on my planes. They all are adjusted slightly to the right to compensate for this out of square. So I currently have gone through and fixed 4 of my blades with a few more left to go. Each blade took about 10 mins due to the amount of steel that I needed to remove. IMO this is plenty fast enough and I couldn't be happier with my new setup.
