Am I doing something wrong?** A: I had a problem getting the nib to puncture the cartridge. It seemed that the cartridge wasn't high enough to make good contact. I used an ice pick to puncture the cartridge and then attached it to the nib. Now my pen is working well. **Q: Does this item not come with ink already?** A: It's been awhile since I received mine but I believe it comes with one or two cartridges. However, I don't like the fact that the cartridges are small. **Q: I got a message, though that said that only 1 of the 8 pens I ordered all arrive next week but the other 7 will arrive in December? That's a problem.** A: That's because we only have one of these in inventory. We do however have other Shaeffer pens. **Q: I have a bit of arthritis in the hand, and am looking for a fountain pen that is going to provide a grip. Does the matte finish offer that?** A: The matte finish is on the barrel and not on the section. Thus it would not offer better grip by virtue of matte finish. However it is very smooth so if you start to sweat it will get slippery and make writing difficult. The black ink is on the lighter/duller side but it does write smoothly.
