## Description

Now you can practice with some of our most popular knife designs in relative safety - with our rubber training knives! Each trainer has been carefully fashioned to look as realistic as possible so they can be effectively used in solo practice, training drills, disarm drills, and demonstrations and any other activity where you want a reasonably close approximation of realism but not the extreme danger and risk associated with an actual knife.

Review: Realistic Training Knife - Highly Recommended - We bought the Cold Steel "Rubber Recon Tanto Training Knife" for practicing disarming moves in TaeKwonDo. This is a replica of Cold Steel 13RTK Recon Tanto Knife , having the same overall length but not weight. Here are my observations: Pros: + Large Size; 11.75" long (7" blade) + Good Grip; feels good in the hand, which makes it more realistic for "aggressor" + Solid; this is tough material that will hold up well (but see "Misc", below) Cons: - Not Balanced; much heavier on blade end Misc: * Firm Rubber; this is not very soft or flexible, which makes it great for stand-up fighting but less optimal for ground fighting or take-downs. I would not like to come down on this with it between my ribs and the ground. This is a great training aid that should last a very long time. Highly Recommended! CFH
Review: Great TRAINING Knife - I love cold Steel training knives, and have used them for years. As a Kali/FMA instructor I like to use this particular model for knife training. First of all it is very sturdy. The blade doesn't bend like other training knives. We also use aluminum training knives, as well as wooden tanto knives. This model is ideal for the beginning student as it can feel like a real knife in the hand and it isnt so heavy. Great feel to the textured grip. Ideal for disarm training due to the sturdiness of the blade and holds up very well for everyday use. Overall very pleased with the product. One last thing, I have to commend desertcart for their incredible service! Ordered the knife on a Friday and received it the following Tuesday using desertcart's FREE super saver shipping! Thank you desertcart! Andrew Santos The Kali Underground

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Buy, Many Uses!
*by O***E on April 20, 2010*

Whether you are a martial artist, Law Enforcement trainer/trainee or even someone who plays airsoft and is looking for a good replica "safe" weapon, the Cold Steel Rubber Recon Tanto is a good choice. While the Rubber Recon Tanto is only 3.1 oz, a whopping 5.8 oz lighter than the real thing if you are concerned about the weight , its look and feel is realistic enough to add to any training scenario while not compromising user/"target" safety***. Constructed of a plastic feeling hard rubber this knife is designed to stand up to rigorous use. *** On that please be aware that unlike many other "realistic" training devices that this item is not a bright "safety" color. The whole knife is black and could be misconstrued as the real edged weapon so please take care and use uncommonly good sense with the use and carry of this training device.
