The envelopes are clear plastic on one side and "soft synthetic" on the other. (It kind of feels like cloth but I'm sure it is a nylon of some sort.) I will state that I keep it clean. I tuck it out of the way when I'm not using it and I keep it zipped up at all times. It will either stay in my car or on a dresser of wherever I'm staying. I don't take it out to the park or to the beach. I'm sure that if sand or dirt got inside of the case it would be a bad thing.Just an FYI, I've owned this case since maybe 2006 or 2008. **Q: Hi, I see the first reviews for this item is in 2005. If you have had it for this long, how well has it held up? Thanks in advance.** A: I have not had it that long only about two months and it is still perfect **Q: Does this lie flat when open?** A: When just the cover is open to the left it will stay open but it doesn't stay flat on table surface. When at least one page of DVDs is flipped to the left on top of it the cover does lie flat on table surface. Hope this helps! **Q: Are the CD sleeves removable from the case? (I have a super-old Case Logic case that had this. Zipper finally broke.)** A: No....the sleeves are attached to the binding of the case. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.at/products/1295436-case-logic-cde-48-48-capacity-heavy-duty-cd-wallet](https://www.desertcart.at/products/1295436-case-logic-cde-48-48-capacity-heavy-duty-cd-wallet) --- *Product available on Desertcart Austria* *Store origin: AT* *Last updated: 2026-11-02*
