Review: OMG: Why Oh Why Did I Not Try This To Begin!!!! - After trying countless chemical drain cleaners, because the previous owners of our house glued the entire sink trap together making disassembly impossible, I recently thought what about a baby’s bottle brush on a long flexible shaft. And guess what, desertcart has it. I followed the simple directions of start running hot water and slowly feed it into the drain with an up and down stroke. While doing this the sink continued to fill as usual. Within about 1 minute, the sink all of a sudden drained. Whatever had been blocking the flow and was resilient to countless chemicals cleared. I then spent another 2 minutes repeating the whole procedure to ensure the pipe insides were fully scrubbed. Carefully withdrew it from the drain to prevent being splashed with an unknown goo and found the brush essentially clean. I rinsed it off, put it back in the bag, and told the wife Mission Accomplished. She was utterly amazed it was that easy and quick. We have been fighting this slow drain for years and in a handful of minutes it’s fixed for good. Well worth the ~$12 investment and couple of minutes of your time. You’ll spend way more than that on chemical solutions that may or may not work. If only I had known something like this existed years ago, I would have saved so much chemical compound money and worry about a sink overflowing. I don’t do this because often, if ever, but I highly recommend everyone buy one now for any current or potential future issues. It is kind of like keeping a good flashlight in the house should the power go out. You may never need it, but if you do it’s there. A kind of cheap insurance policy, so to speak.
Review: Makes drain cleaning a cinch! - Our drains were getting slow and, therefore, a bit stinky. I hate using caustic products like Draino if I don't have to, so the idea of a cleaning brush appealed to me. This brush did the trick beautifully (and for me, did a MUCH better job than any drain cleaning liquid/foam/whatever, that I've used in the past). It was so easy...dare I say...fun? It slipped down the vanity drains in the bathroom lickety-split as I ran hot water and worked it up and down as I fed it along the length of pipe to scrub the sides down of muck. Not a huge mess to clean up once I slipped it out of the drain either. I was able to sneak it through the grate on my kitchen drain (although probably not something I should do twice or I might lose the brush head), but it cleaned that beautifully too! I had a bunch of cat hair that hung things up after bathing the cat and forgetting to put a catch-screen in the drain. Because of the drain grate being narrow, I used one of those long drain-cleaning strips of plastic with the keyed teeth on the sides (that's a separate product that doesn't come with this one; mine was from Lowe's or Home Depot). This slid all that mucky hair out with ease, and now my drain is flowing with no issues and is clean as a whistle! I highly recommend this Brushtech brush to any homeowner—I only wish I'd bought one years ago! It's durable enough that I think it will last a long time.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the diameter of the brush?**
A: The original diameter starts off that wide but gets smaller and more straggly with use. I demonstrated this in an updated review with a video as the bristles keep coming out... not cool. Also the brush has lost almost half an inch of it’s original length, after just 2 uses, from the bristles coming out of the cable coils

**Q: What's the diameter of the cable? The sink drain holes are about 1/4" each. Would the cable and the brush will go through the 1/4 " holes ? Thanks**
A: Won't fit. The diameter of the cable itself is about 1/4" and the brush will likely only compress to about 3/8" at most.

**Q: Would this work on AC air handler drain pipes?**
A: Yes it would. I use it for all my drains.

**Q: Will this work for washer drain hose? Need to clean black stuff out of the hose**
A: If your washer drain hose is like mine, ca. 1 1/4 inch inner diameter with small circumferential ridges every ca. 1/8 inch, then this brush should fit well through the hose just fine, break up any blockages, and clean to the inner edges of the ridges. I'm not sure how well it will get to the bottom of the ridges to completely clear any black deposits. It might require a fair amount of rotating of the brush and flexing of the hose to get those areas clean.

Also check if 48 inches is long enough. You many need to go in through both ends if your hose is longer then 48 inches.

Bottom line, if the deposits are causing functional problems (like a plugged hose) then this brush should work to remedy them. However, if the deposits are a cosmetic problem and you need to remove them 100%, no brush is likely to be able to do that.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty good
*by A***N on July 16, 2021*

I use this to clean out slow drains and it works well. It IS extra long, which helps clean more of the drain. It does its job well. The only thing I wish is that they put more bristles on it. There's only about an inch or maybe 2 of them. It would get 5 stars if it was more like 3 or 4 inches to scrub the pipe better. Or even if they had the same length but just more of them (denser). But I think it is still pretty good.
