Help** A: I have some trouble too, what I have found works best is to have the area around the overflow completely dry. Then start the tub flow and just wet the suction cups, not the whole thing. Then I put it around and start sealing from the bottom to the top, working kind of from the very bottom and in both directions until I meet back up again at the top. My tub is form the 1940s** A: I have an old tub also (1949) with that type of drain with the handle over it and it works on mine. It just barely fits over the handle depth-wise, but it does work. The cover is 2 inches deep, so if you have a handle that doesn't stick out more than 2 inches from the tub surface you should be able to use it. I'm really glad I did. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not perfect but it sure helps create a perfect bath *by V***M on September 25, 2015* I had a hard time deciding if I should give this 3 or 4 stars. When it stays it's great and once I figured out how to get the suction cups to stick it worked great at first. The problem is it has gotten harder and harder to keep in place as it's been used. It has a bunch of tiny suction cups that just don't hold easily and the ones at the top hit the bend of the tub, depending on how you place it which doesn't help either. A tip, dampen the suction cups and then press two or more at a time with both hands working from the bottom up. If you get it to stay and not slip, once the water fills over the bottom half it does help hold the cover on and if it's slipping once the tub is filled you can hold the sides with your feet. But all of this gets harder to do as time goes on, I don't think I have had this more than 3 or 4 months and water gets in there now each time I take a bath unfortunately. It still works/helps and the extra amount it allows me to fill the tub makes all the difference in creating a soothing, therapeutic and enjoyable bath, I just wish it were perfected so that I didn't have to work so hard to help it work.
