A: Yes there is an 8inch carving knife

**Q: Is there a sharper available for these**
A: A sharpener doesn’t come with the set but you can pick one up no problem. Can highly recommend this set.

**Q: How tall is knife block with knives in place?**
A: The height from the top of the tallest knife to the base is 14 inches

**Q: How do you clean knife block? Can it be washed?**
A: I wipe it with dettol wipe outside. Never tried to clean inside the knife slots but I think it should be fine with hand wash and proper drying

The only reason I'm giving this a 4 and not a 5 is because the knives aren't self sharpening, as far as I can tell. Also you can't just put each knife into the block at any angle - you have to rotate each one before it will fit into its corresponding slot. That said, these are small prices to pay for what is a really beautiful kitchen accessory, and I really love the product - I bought the version with various shades of green handles, which looks really good in my blue/green kitchen. The design is great - more compact than a lot of knife blocks, with easy rotation to allow access to the knife you want. The knives are razor sharp.
