That just doesn't happen with such deep grooves in the base. If anything, you'll just slide the stand back if you push too hard in landscape mode...or knock the whole thing over in portrait mode (and you'd *really* have to be abusive for that to happen). **Q: Will this work with a 13.3 inch tablet?** A: I'm using this with a Google Pixel slate in the landscape mode when I don't want to use the keyboard case (i.e. I just want to use it as a tablet) and it works brilliantly. In fact it works better than it does with my iPad. **Q: Does it hold it in landscape poistion** A: This stand holds an Amazon Fire HD 10 in landscape mode. It holds the tablet securely. **Q: Does this work with smartphones as well? For example, could I use it on both my galaxy s3 as well as a nexus 7?** A: I have a S3 and a Nexus 7, I just went and grabbed the stand and propped my phone up no problem. Obviously it requires adjusting the width of the legs and the angle of the back supporter, but you can get an almost 90 degree angle and it is still sturdy. If you wanted to prop the phone vertically you'd have a problem with it being wobbly because the legs would have to be all the way closed together but you could still pull it off. This was an excellent buy,. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect Tablet Stand *by C***S on April 13, 2018* I'm very impressed by this stand. First off, it's a fairly simple and compact design, the main arm that holds the tablet upright has two points of articulation, both of which are joints with an interlocking teeth design. This does mean that it has slightly fewer positions than some of the aluminum tension lock stands, but it is very sturdy and I've been able to get any angle that I could reasonably need. The two feet each have 3 positions: folded against each other, spaced slightly apart such that you could fit a phone on in vertically, and spaced farther apart for tablet use. The feet have notches to accommodate your device, and the nothces, the arm, and the bottom of the feet have this black rubber-foam stuff that does an excellent job of keeping everything in place- nothing is going to move unless you want it to. All of my devices fit in this even with their cases on, and even with the larger cases- I have my Samsung Tab S3 9.7 inch in a leather case that more than doubles its thickness, and the stand still works perfectly.
